Greeting from the U.S.! You will see me a lot on here over the next few months, as Best Friend and I will be making our first ever trip to France/Paris/DLP!

I've been to WDW about 19 times, so I know it inside and out, but I'm still a novice about DLP - learning all of the basics.

Best Friend and I will be together for New Year's and will spend nearly an entire day planning this trip. (The airfare is already purchased.)

Best Friend love Wilderness Lodge at WDW, so we will be staying at Sequoia Lodge. (I usually stay at the Beach Club, so I'm sacrificing Newport Beach!)

We will book Sequoia Lodge this weekend for our May 27-June 1 trip. So my first question is:
Is it worth it to have a room in the main building vs. one of the lodge buildings?

DLP Experts, please grant me your wisdom!
Gayle

I would say yes it is worth it

I'd also say it's worth it because you don't have far to walk to breakfast lol, depending on where your lodge is. The first time we went, we were in one of the further ones towards the end (I didn't know anything about the lodges then - obviously didn't do much research back then lol). And we have 2 little ones as well, so NOT having to walk that extra bit back to the room (5 mins approx) from the main building (esp at the end of a long day!) made a huge difference.

Just moving this to the top as you will get more replies :)

Many prefer the Montana Room as it means that you do not need to head outside at all to access the main facilities.

Our Halloween trip was our first time at the Sequoia and when i booked i didnt even bother asking for a Montana Room as the whole price seemed enough to me even without the extra price lol
We were lucky though - dont know why but our room was in the main building and i think - but just *think* as no one told us so - it was a Montana with a not-so-nice back view lol
It was good because we could go and have breakfast without bringing all our stuff but honestly i can not see any other reason to pay for it.
As i said the room was nice but nothing special and the view horrible but when your hotel room is just a place to change yourself and rest does the view make a difference?
Said that our party was of four adults (me, my partner and my two kids of 22 and 15) and so it may be different if you have kids :goodvibes

We've booked a Montana room for our trip next week, but this is only because of the time of year. I wouldn't normally opt for a large hotel over a small lodge, but we're looking forward to heating up with hot chocolate by the fire and then not having to go back out in the cold to get to our room.

I've never stayed at SL before, but if I was going at the time of year you are I wouldn't bother paying the extra. We stayed at the Cheyenne in June. It's about an extra 5-10 minute walk with kids and we walked to and from the parks every day as it was good weather and a lovely walk, so I think at that time of year it would be nice to be in the lodges. Might just be me though.
