Questions about scheduled May park hours

I see that May 1st and May 2nd have been removed. The last time I checked park hours was about 2 weeks ago, and I believe they were there. Since then, did they remove all park hours for May and then recently add back May 3rd - May 31st? (I've heard this from someone.) Or have the majority of May's hours shown as being open, and then just recently May 1st and May 2nd were removed?

The reason I'm asking, is that some people are saying that because the hours starting May 3rd have been added, then that means the parks will be opening up..... or at least planning to do so.

I've read that Disney has been cancelling ADR's. FP's, etc thru May 2nd. I'm just trying to figure out if there is any basis for the belief that WDW will be opening some time in May. Thanks for your help with this!

Seeing that as of now you cannot book a room or ADR until June 1st, my guess would be they are not planning on being open in May.

I would be surprised to see them open in May, and certainly not the first half of May.

The progression of the WDW park calendar being changed to "closed" on Disney's website has been as follows:

3/31 – updated to “closed” for all dates through 4/18 (was previously 4/9)
4/2 - updated to "closed" for all dates through 4/30
4/7 - updated to "closed" for all dates through 5/2

So they didn't just recently add hours from May 3rd thru May 31st, they instead removed May 1st and May 2nd. That's what I thought had probably happened, but others had told me that the May hours were already gone and Disney had recently put the May hours back.

The May 2nd date is based on the current 30 day state wide stay at home order that went into effect on April 2nd at 12 AM. This means that Disney can not open before May 3rd at the earliest.

That is what is currently being reflected in the cancellations that Disney has been making through May 2nd. As to WDW opening anytime in May, there is no public available information to confirm at this time.

Universal just announced they will be closed until May 31st, so I imagine Disney will follow suit.

That would be my guess as well. I'd be surprised to see them open before June 1.

Just took a look at park hours this afternoon, and Disney has pulled park hours through May 9th now. That might not be news - seems their closure is still 'indefinite', but definitely through 5/9/2020. I'm expecting that's not the last time they officially remove park hours and events.
