We will be traveling to Universal in early July. I am a AAA member and plan to use that for discounts. We will have three adults and two children (ages 14 and 7). The best rate that I currently get online using AAA is $233. We are planning to purchase the 5 park flex ticket for a two week vacation. Therefore the stay and play package doesnt help me any.

Is the 14 year old considered a child or an adult? I cant find this information anywhere. I have checked their website, Loew's website and searched this forum.

Also, I thought that I read somewhere that if you have 5 people in the room, then you are required to have a roll away bed for $25 per night. Is this actually required or can my 7 year old simply sleep on the floor as we normally do?

What would happen if I booked the room for two adults and three children? This would cut the price to $210 per night. Are the FOTL room keys specific to adults or children? Does each person have to be present to receive the keys or do they issue them all to me at check-in? Would I be questioned about this during check-in? (I know that I probably shouldnt do this and probably wont, I'm just trying to understand the FOTL room keys and what happens at check-in.)

Any information about these questions is greatly appreciated!! Thanks to all for the wonderful information that I have already gained from this site!!

Well, first of all the 14 year old is not an adult - 17 and under is considered a child. To be honest, I think if you had two adults and three children you could probably just book the room with two queens and have one kid sleep on the floor. However, since you have three adults (it's going to be crowded, the rooms at RPR are the smallest of the three on-site hotels), I think you are going to have to pay the extra fee for the adult in the room.

When I checked in to the RPR a couple of weeks ago, I was given all the room keys, since I did not want charging privileges on the keys. I think if you want charging privileges on the room keys, each person has to sign the key at the check-in desk. (I'm sure someone will confirm this.)

I'm not quite sure of the make-up of your party. If you have three adults in your party, I certainly wouldn't book the room with two adults and three children. However, if you are asking if the 14 year old is an adult, the answer is no.

Hope this is helpful.
