Questions about Regular Dining Plan

I have a few questions regarding the regular dining plan that I'm hoping you guys can answer. I along with many others am hoping for FD (we're going Sept. 5th - 13th) however this year DH and I are staying at a moderate. This means that if FD is a go, we will be getting the DDP (hopefully), and we've only ever done the QS plan. So I have a few questions:

1) I guess I always thought that the amount of credits you received equals the duration of your stay. However I've read on the boards that the credits actually add up to number of nights you stay, not days? So if DH and I will be there for 9 days/ 8 Nights, we would have a total of 16 TS credits, 16 quick service, and 16 snacks....is that correct? If so, let's say people actually follow that plan by using one credit of each type per day, what would you do on the final day of your stay?

2) Since we'll be on the regular plan I had a question about the items you can order. Are there specific items that people choose from when they are on the dining plan at table service places, or is the entire menu fair game?

Thanks for any help that you can provide!! :)

1. Exactly. It's the number of nights you stay, not the number of days. Stay 8 nights and you get 8 TS, 8 QS and 8 snacks per person. The point is that you do not HAVE to use one of each credit type each day. You can mix and match, use more credits on one day if you are going to use fewer credits on another. If you run out of credits, then you must pay OOP for any further meals you wish to have.

2. Entire menu with very few exceptions (most of those are either multicourse meals for which you can pay a surcharge, or items intended to serve multiple people)

In many cases, people check in mid-day and leave mid-day. So the first and last days of your stay are usually not full days needing full meal credits for that day.

You can't order everything from the menus when using TS credits on the regular DDP.

You can order all of the entrees, desserts, & drinks. No salads, no soups, no appetizers, etc. And as PP answered, not most of the special entree items for more than 1 person - but sometimes can order entrees for 2 if use 2 TS credits, etc.

Also, a few restaurants do not allow splitting entrees, such as, Beaches & Cream, Rainforest, & may be others.
