Hi!

Can anyone tell me about the Happy Hour specials at Raglan Road? Can you eat at the bar (do they 'seat' people at the bar, or is it 'grab an empty stool')? And if you're sitting at the bar, are you close to the performers?

Thanks much!

Can't help you with happy hour questions...sorry. But as to how it's set up: when we went, we had to wait for our table & they told us we could take any open seats at the bar(i.e., they did not "seat" you at the bar.) I did not see anyone eating at the bar, so don't know if they actually will serve you there. The bar is over to the side of the room so you can sort of see the stage if you turn on your bar stool. It is not what you would call a good view (not comfortable either, since most bar seats you'd have to turn around to see.) The bar & the stage are basically in one big room, though, so you can certainly hear the entertainment while sitting at the bar with no problems.

Yes, you can eat at the bar, and yes, it is self-seating. There is also a small area of booths and tables near the entrance where you can seat yourself in the bar area. You can see the stages from the actual bar, however, from some vantage points, the view would be a little awkward (behind you).

You cannot see either stage from the booth area.

Oh, and I think their happy hour is only at the outside bar during normal happy hour times (you know, late afternoon to early evening). I'm not sure if you can order food from the whole menu from the outside bar.

. . . they do have specialty drinks
. . . they were different both times we went during Happy Hour

Can you eat at the bar (do they 'seat' people at the bar, or is it 'grab an empty stool')?
. . . just grab a seat
. . . there is no hostess seating
. . . you may or may not have a split party

And if you're sitting at the bar, are you close to the performers?
. . . no
. . . plus, the view is not good

In May Happy Hour was outside at the Hole In The Wall bar between Cookes of Dublin and Raglan Road. The drink special for Happy Hour was 2.00 off any draft pint. ( my pint of Harp was still 6.00 with the special price )

The specials do change periodically.

Yes, you can sit at the bar. However, at certain times, both bars are not open. We went early evening and only the main bar was open, but we had an obstructed view to the stage. We were about fifteen feet away from the performers.

The back bar has better viewing of the stage, but does not open until really late.

You can order off the menu at the bar.
