I can only answer the first question. Yes you will have plenty of room but you may want to request a balcony cause not all rooms have them or request bottom floor for patio. The last couple of stays we have went with DD22 and her boyfriend and we were fine. We always request bottom floor so if things get to crowded we can just slip out on patio or walk around grounds.

As for the second question check out the Tikiman website he will have all the update information on construction.

In addition to the pp's recommendation about Tikiman's site, you might also want to check out his FB page. The website isn't being updated regularly because something happened with his computer, but he does give updates via his fb page. I know that DVC construction will be starting towards the end of this year (supposedly) and that the Poly pool will be closed for a couple of weeks in January. We love the Poly and will be there in a little over 3 weeks!

The Poly rooms are very large and spacious. We are a family of 4 and had plenty of room to spread out. The large room is one the many reasons we love the Poly .
