Is it easy to use your points at non-disney hotels? We go to NY annualy. Does anyone have any experience with using their points towards non-disney hotels? I have no idea how it works.

The general thought is that although trading DVC into RCI for stays other than disney is not "hard" to do, you will lose value on the trade, many prefer to rent their DVC out and use the money to travel elsewhere. But yes you can use it, but must be wary of associated fees, 95 dollar booking fee and house keeping fees are two I most often here of. your guide can give you all the in's and outs.
