Can someone please explain the photopass to me. We are going to spend 2 days at MK with our group of 14. If each family has different photo pass cards can they all be put on one CD together? Do we see the pictures before we leave MK or after we get home? Are there photographers at the Character meals? We are eating breakfast at CP, Dinner at 1900 Park Fare and dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Are there many photographers in MK?

Also, someone suggested putting your name on the card so it doesn't get mixed up. Can you just write on it with a pen or will that make it not work?

I would appreciate any information because I just heard about this for the first time and we are leaving October 20. It sounds like a great way to get alot of family pictures, and if you can put it on one CD we would do that and let each family print whichever they want. They don't mention it at all in UG. Thank you.

You can combine many Photopass cards into one single "account." You get a card the first time a photographer takes your pciture. They don't collect your name or anything like that. To PhotoPass, you are strictly a number and nothing more, and that's NOT a bad thing!

At home, when you access the PhotoPass website, you can enter many card numbers and have them combined into one PhotoPass account. I had 4, only because I kept forgetting previous days' cards back in my room! Therefore, no need to write anyone's names on their cards -- I can't think of any reason for it!

You can see pics at each park if you'd like, but I never did it -- we just waited 'til we got home.

I was only at one character meal during my last trip, and there were no PhotoPass photographers in that restaurant.

And by the way, I've read that the ride pictures from Test Track are now part of PhotoPass. This is THE ONLY RIDE in Disney World that is hooked up this way. I read that when you see your group's pic up on the monitor, you have something like 30 seconds to swipe your Photopass card through a reader near the monitor, to get the pic "attached" to your Photopass account.

As the previous poster said, yes you can combine all the Photopass cards onto one CD.

You can look at your photos from WDW or just wait till you get home. I usually just wait till I get home.

You can buy the CD on the last day of your trip or wait till you get home. They no longer do any enhancements on the CD like borders, signatures or dates.

Photopass is not in the restaurants. Some restaurants do have a photographer but he isn't part of Photopass and they just sell the package then and there as you are eating your meal. None of your restaurants have a photographer (at least they didn't when I ate there).

Eventually, I think the rides will have Photopass but right now it's only Test Track.

Lastly, putting your name on the back is a great idea. I use a sharpie pen as it works better. The reason this is a good idea is that some have reported getting the wrong card back from the Photopass photographer. If you write your name on it, then you will know if they gave you the wrong card.

Have fun! I'll be there the same week!

I read somewhere to write your email address on your card. That way if you lose it maybe someone who finds it will email you and can give you the numbers off it and your pics won't be gone. I also read that Photopass is only worth the price if you get like 300+ pics on it.
Good Luck Have a great trip!

Actually, IMHO, the Photopass CD is worth it once you have about 10 great photos you love that you want to buy. Individually, they would be $12.95 each so if you love at least 10 pictures, that's $130 if you buy them individually. The CD is only $99 (plus printing costs at home or at Walmart or where ever) for up to 300 photos.

When we were in WDW we went to the Donald Breakfast at AK and we bought the photos of the family portrait before we entered. I noticed, after I got home and already bought the photopass CD, that on the portrait there was a code to enter to add it to your photopass.

Problem is you had to buy the photos to get the code.

We were just at WDW last week and bought the cd. We took advantage of as many photo ops as we could with two little ones. Let the photographer know you will probably buy the cd or pics and they will take several shots. Bring along your laptop and you can view the photos each night, or stop in the photopass store to view them. We ended up with 100 shots (seemed like more though), most of them good. It was worth it-figure $1 per picture plus all rights to reprint. The colors do seem a bit off though. We did Crystal Palace, and Chef Mickeys and there werent photopass people there. Not every character in the park has a photographer either. Our Test Track photos were included as well.

Someone suggested writing down the number of your photopass card and keeping it in your room in case it gets lost. Then you can just give the number to the people and they can pull up your photos. I stored our number on my cell phone and also left a copy in our room. The water parks have a neat card-a small version on a cool you can wear on your wrist. Would make it a lot easier to access vs digging it out of you bag.
