Questions about moderates?

we might be staying at a moderate for the first time in Sept-- my grandma is coming along with us. Which moderate would be the least spread out and would require the lease walking? Also how are there pools? Please give me your advice on how the bus stops at the moderates work, and any specific rooms to request so that she would not have to walk as far thanks for your help

Port Orleans French Quarter is by far the most compact Moderate. It is a pretty resort with just one (very nice) pool but you can go over to close-by Riverside to swim too as they are "sister" resorts. The bus stop is out front and I am guessing they share buses with Riverside -- someone else here may know for sure. Even the farthest room is close to the buses and to the food court and pool. The pool is large and there is a hot tub nearby. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and tables, very nice area. There is a slide that looks like a sea serpent that is quite tame and appropriate for young kids -- maybe even Grandma!

You can request "close to lobby" and/or "ground floor room" to make less walking for your grandmother.

No doubt about it...you need to make your reservations at POFQ. It does share buses with POR, but the good thing is that POFQ is the first to get picked up and the first to get dropped off on your way back from the parks.

there's also a relaxing & free boat ride you can take from
this resort over to Downtown Disney-

IMHO this is the best moderate and in some cases
better than some of the deluxe properties 'value wise'

POFQ would be prefect for you guys. Be sure to get some beignets and if you can check out Eliott Dyson at Scat Cats. You'll find the hot tub very secluded, so young children don't tend to frequent it much. It is very quiet and relaxing. Have a good time.

I also go along woth POFQ. Very compact and easy to get from one place to another. The boat ride to DtD is very relaxing also. We always stay at POR, but its extremely spread out.
Don't forget to try the beignets!
