I keep reading different reviews of Mara with some being quite bad. I'm just hoping that we can get decent breakfast or snack food there. I'm really interested in the coffee, is it the good stuff that Boma serves or the standard yucky Nescafe?

I am glad to see that some of the desserts that are served at Boma are apparently sold in packages at Mara. I may have to stick to those! :teeth:

It is that crap Nescafe! However, they do sell the presspot and coffee used at bomas. I think the coffee was 13$ and I don't know what the press pot was. They do have the same expresso machine found all over WDW. The good thing about AKL is they will provide a coffee maker unlike the GF or YBC. We just bring our own coffee and filters.

Personally I REALLY liked the food choices at the Mara. Breakfast was standard fare and full sized Mickey waffles that I still can't reproduce at home:( . Yes they sell Zebra Domes with a Mocha Crunch mouse and yes that was my breakfast for 10 days!

Lunch and dinner had basic burgers etc. Some of the great soups from Boma and a great African Stew in a bread bowl.

none of us from 18months to 75 haver been disapponited in the Mara unlike the the fast food at GF and the Poly, IMHO!

Try the Zebra dome diet... :p

I would agree with the previous post. We found Mara to be much better than the counter service at Port Orleans, Grand Floridian, or Polynesian. Granted, it's still counter service, so you can't expect greatness, but nevertheless, we were quite impressed with Mara for what it is.

I like Mara, too. I love their fried shrimp and fish and chips baskets. The tandoori chicken pizza is good too. They've definitely got different offerings from other food courts and that's a good thing! :D

Plus, you can buy zebra domes there for dessert..... :p

This is good news. Well, except for the coffee part. What is with Disney and Nescafe?
