Questions about making first reservation

We are finally almost at the end of the resale process, having closed 3/31 and had our deed recorded the same day. So I'm going to start calling member services. We want to make reservations for mid-November, but don't have our exact dates yet. We know the week but not sure if we want to do Mon-Sat or Tues-Sun. type of thing. Can we reserve a week and then just drop a night or two from either end when we make our final decision (assuming it is available, of course!)? Thanks!

Yes. You cannot modify a reservation online, but Member Services can drop a night from the beginning or end of a reservation over the phone.

OK, but here is another question: I need to bank my points by July, so I would need to drop any nights before then so I can bank the points we aren't using, right?

Correct if you do it after your banking window you will have to use or lose points before end of use year

I'll assume you have a December use year, so you'll need to bank any points by the end of July. This is one of the risks of taking a vacation so late in your use year; any change of plans can leave you with stranded points.
