Questions about making autograph books

I am trying to make autograph books for my DD and DS, and I have a few questions.

Is 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 too small for an autograph page? I am trying to keep it small enough to carry around, but large enough for characters to sign.

Did you print the images on your own computer or take it somewhere like Office Depot to print?

I did a 4 x 6 printed on my own computer. I took it to Staples to have it spiral bound and then the cover and last page lamanated. It was plenty large enough for signatures and I wouldn't have wanted it any larger.
