Questions about incentives

Hi there,

DH, DD and I were just at DLR for our second annual Thanksgiving trip and we attended the sales presentation for VGC. We think it would be perfect for us since we plan to go every year and we stay in a nicer hotel anyway, and we really want the convenience of being at the Grand Californian. We live on the West Coast so we want VGC for our home resort and can't buy resale.

Anyway, they offered us $15 off per point and 2009 points if we join by Thursday. Is that really a firm deadline, or if we called our guide in a month and offered to join if they give us the same deal, will they give it to us? Also, is that the best deal we can get, or is there some other incentive we could specifically ask for?

As another west coaster I love the VGC. The timeframe they gave you is firm on that specific incentive. That being said, they come up with different incentives all the time so you never know whether a better one is around the corner. If you decide to purchase after their deadline, than it will be under whatever incentives are available at that time.

Sometimes they give additional incentives with a member referral so you may want to ask about that too.

The current incentive is pretty good. All of us that purchased when it first became available paid much more.

If the Use Year (Month you receive points) they are offering doesn't work with your typical vacation plans you can request a different one, most guides will not tell you this.

Your UY determines your banking deadline so you typically do not want the majority of your travel in the last four months of your UY as it would be after your banking deadline if you ever had to cancel a trip.

We loved our stay at VGC and it is perfect for us because we also live in CA. I picked this as our home resort because I will always be able to go to Disneyland.
