Questions about Going to Sea World

Am going in Dec and am staying on site at ASM. Thought nephews would like day at sea world. Haven't planned on renting car becuase staying onsite shouldn't need it. So what I'm asking is does Disney offer any kind of service ride to Sea World? Also if you use the Majical express, does it or will it stop anywhere for groceries? Thanks for any help

First off, welcome to the DIS. Disney doesn't offer transportation to Sea World. I think your best bet would be to get a cab (I'd have no idea about the cost of that, though). If your nephews haven't been to the WDW before, I'd just stick with WDW. You could always check out The Living Seas at Epcot which we thoroughly enjoyed this year with the Finding Nemo redo they did to the pavilion.

As for the Magical Express question, I don't think they'd stop at a grocery store, but I'm not 100% certain. I'm sure someone else will know.

I love seaworld, we too are making Seaworld part of our vacation this year, we go in 4 weeks and we are taking a shuttle van. If you take a cab it's right around $50. There are 10 of us so we are using Tiffany Towncar Van and it's $65 round trip for everyone.

you should try to go to seaworld its amazing there. Its my favourite theme park and is a nice break away from the madness at disney. you can stroll round all day and watch the shows etc, and if your brave go on kraken!!! its amazing!

Disney's Magical express does NOT stop anywhere but at your destination resort.

As another alternative transportation, there is a public bus that goes from the ticket and transportation center. Here is the information directly from Mary's site:

The cheapest way is to take the city bus to SeaWorld from the Ticket and Transportation Center at Walt Disney World. The bus is #50 and the fare is $1.25 each way. The trip takes about 20 minutes. Be sure to ask the driver to let you off at the front gate of SeaWorld, and ask where to pick up the return bus (also #50). For schedules and further details, visit GoLynx.com.

I haven't used the bus but I plan to next April if we don't have a rental car.

Good Luck,

Joanne

Wow thanks all, the info is most helpfull.
Another quick question is how far is closest wal-mart. And how much do you think cab would cost?

There is a new Super Walmart just down the road--someone will give you directions. What I'd do is rent a car onsite for one day--take it to Seaworld and then hit Walmart on the way back. Way easier and probably cheaper than a bus and a cab.

I'd love to go to Sea World (haven't been since 92), but it would mean I'd have to give up a day at WDW. Which would you rather do, 4 days at WDW and 1 at SW, or 5 at WDW?

I would choose 4 days at DW and 1 day at Seaworld. We are going in November and my DH would kill me if we didn't go to Seaworld. He loves that park! We will be spending 4 days at DW, 1 day at Seaworld, and 1 day at Universal Studios. I can't wait; I've never been to Universal.

To the original poster: Regarding the grocery stop question: We book a Quicksilver towncar to pick us up from the airport. Roundrip is $90 for us - two adults and one toddler. They include a free 30 minute grocery stop at Publix, which is perfect for us since we like to buy snacks, water, juice etc. for the room.

Also, we don't drive in Orlando either. Last year we booked Mears shuttle bus to pick us up from the hotel to take us to Seaworld. It cost us about $14 per person roundtrip and was very convenient.

Hope this helps!

Hey, that's convenient! Is there also a bus to Universal Studios?

Oh, and what is Mary's site?

Thanks!

We love both Sea World and WDW. In fact we have AP's to both.

Now we always have a vehicle at our disposal when in Florida, either a rental of my truck so I'm not much help here except that the Lynx bus leaves from the TTC to Sea World frequently and indeed is $1.25 PP each way. As said above, it drops you off at the Sea World parking lot entrance.

Had thought we might do day at or most of day at sea world then head back to disney for dinner. I have to check with rest of crowd but am trying to gather as much info as possible.

Mary's site is Mousesavers.com.

There is no public bus to Universal.
