Questions about FP and singles line

I'm taking my 13 and year olds Wed-Fri. There are some things, like TOT My teen will do, but not my younger one and me. If we get my teen an FP, can I stand in line with him, but not ride, since I really don't want to lose my son during this very crowded time? Also can we use single's line to ride something like Soarin.......do we have to be willing to actually let my 7 year old ride by himself? Not that I really want to.......
Can my teen use the single's line, and we stand with him for TOT if we don't ride, and just wait in the exit area for him? It's been a while since I've been to WDW, and want to make sure I can keep up with my kids.
Thanks,
Pat

Most rides have step throughs or Chicken exit JK.
Just ask the CM at the front of line for that attaction.
If they do have that you can go in the single rider line with him at point either step or get on ride as a single rider.
Also most rides dump into a store so you could also just wait there for him as well.

Sorry but no single line in TOT. The only one I know for sure is Test Track in Epcot. SOARIN does not have a singles line, all they do is when they get to the staging area, they call out for singles (so it doesn't get you through the line any faster). I do wish more rides had singles lines!

Most every ride has a chicken exit if you don't want to ride. But that means standing in line which may be long.

If your teen feels comfortable enough, just tell him you will meet him at the exit after the ride. DD went on Space Mt by herself for the first time last month. I was willing to stand in line and exit via the chicken exit but she said she was fine (I was probably more nervous about her going than she was).

Good luck!

I don't know about Tot but most rides we had my mil in a wheelchair AND had to do a child swap so we were able to all go through the line then they would put MIL with the baby towards the exit and when we were done I would take the baby, DH would stay on the ride and MIL would come and join him.

You have to have a FP to get in the FP line. So if you don't get one, you can't wait in the line. For single rider lines, yes, your 7 yr old might have to ride without you. That's why they call it the single rider line and not the smaller group line. But you could get out of the line and not ride at all.

If one of you has a Fast Pass, then the other two will need them as well to stand in the same line. That shouldn't be a problem, though. At Twilight Zone, I have personal experience with the line and having someone leave. You can do the entire preshow in the library together. You can walk through the entire boiler room together. When they start boarding the elevators, just say "one to ride, two to exit". You will be taking over to a side elevator and you can wait for your son at the exit near the photo place. Very efficient. My father-in-law did this a few years ago.

Mission:Space is even easier. Do the same thing and go through the entire pre show. When they are getting ready to lead you to the capisule, just tell them you want to exit. They will ask repeatedly if everyone wants to ride. Just say no.

One thing about Disney - they are not going to force anyone to ride if they don't want to. Saw Twilight Zone being held up because a little girl was crying and not sure she wanted to go. Once she calmed down, we were OK but they gave her every opportunity to get off (with a parent, of course) even though we were all buckled up.

Single riders - yes, you take a chance your seven year old will ride without you. I wouldn't do it if I were you.
