I'm not sure if that is the correct name, but how does this work, and does it work with the 7-day pass we bought?

Thanks-

Express pass is exactly like the fast pass at Disney. The only difference is that Universal knows how to handile the line batter that Disney. They split the line evenly instead of more fast pass and less walk-in guest.

UE is available to everyone. There are readers that are near the attractions that you scan your cards in and it will give you a paper ticket and then go up during the time that it says on the ticket. You are only allowed to have one pass at a time.

The difference between FastPass and express pass is also that Universal sometimes (I haven't used it much so I can't say always) gives you a choice of a couple of return times...

I'm sure Disney has to let more FastPass people in than standby because they have a much larger volume, both of guests and of FastPass users...Otherwise, FastPass people would be waiting longer than the advertised perk (15 min. or less)

Be sure to choose your Express passes wisely, if the standby for something is something you can live with on one attraction, don't waste an Express on it! It can be very useful...I was there one day and the standby for Hulk was 60 minutes, and we got Express passes and they were for THAT time! LOL we just walked on by everyone and were on in 10 minutes! :D

I am still not sure exactly how the express pass system works. Can anyone give a full example?

Thanks so much.

say if you walk up to an attraction and it says a longer wait than you want.

You then decide if you want to wait or express pass it.

If you EP it, you then take your ticket and scan it through the machine.

It will give you a choices of three (I think?) times that you can return. Pick the one most conveinent to you (there is a touch screen on the machine,) and after you pick your time you want to come back, you will have a paper slip stating the time you picked.

When you time is ready, just walk in the Express line with your paper slip with the time on it. (Its sort of like a reservation for the ride!)

Is express available to people with 1day park tickets?

Cindy,

Thank you.

Now once the ticket with the time is in hand, and you return at the time stated, how long is the wait then? Can you board the ride in short order?

Thanks !

As far as I know, Express is available to anyone with valid admission media, same as FastPass at Disney.

Diz,
The express line wait time is usually no longer than 15-20 minutes. A lot of times it's only about 5 minutes.
