Questions about Disney Cruises and excursions

Hurray! We have tentatively booked a land and sea combination, adding a few extra days before the cruise so that we will have plenty of time at WDW.

We are planning on cruising from 7/3/03 to 7/06/03. I know that it rains in Florida every day during the summer, does it also rain at sea and on the islands?


Also, tell me about the Dolphin excursion in Nassau. It has always been my dream to swim with the dolphins. Do you really get to swim with them, or are you just in the water with them? I don't want to take that excursion, miss all of the others and then be disappointed.

This year we spent July 3 at WDW and then did the Wonder cruise the 4-7. At WDW we didnt have any rain where we were, however when we arrived at TTC on our way home from MGM, there were puddles and people wearing ponchos. There must have been a very isolated downpour. On the cruise there was light rain and lightning at sailaway time(the party was held indoors). Then Friday in Nassau we had a shower that lasted about 1/2 hour and a couple other little sprinkles(barely enough to get wet). Saturday started out cloudy with a few sprinkles but it turned into a beautiful day at CC. While it sounds like we had a lot of rain, there really wasnt much and it didnt affect our trip at all. Hope you get as lucky!

Thank you for your reply. I just found this board and it is totally amazing! I know that I will have all of my questions answered before I go.

I know that the rain in Florida usually does not stop activities, it goes away so quickly, but I wasn't sure if the climate was the same heading out to the islands.

We are so excited about going, I don't know how we will wait until June.
