Just wanted to hear some ideas on past or comming up planned dis meets on the ships. Things like....when is a good time to plan one, where are some good spots to do it and anything that added to the meeting like snacks or lime green ribbons....:teeth:

Thanks

There are going to be many of us sailing the Magic on May 29th who are planning on meeting on deck 7 verandah. (We had originally thought of meeting in a stateroom, but, as said, there are MANY of us. LOL!) Also, we're still trying to decide who gets to buy the 'welcome aboard' drinks. Some think it should be the first group who received their docs, others think it should be the last, a few of us think it should be the family who has cruised the most, others think it should be the family who's never cruised before..:hyper:

You get the picture!:sunny:

We held ours at the Goofy pool at 3:30 (just before the lifeboat drill). The location was ok since a lot of us with children were out and about in that area anyway. The time didn't allow us a lot of time to be together, though, because we had to head to the lifeboat drill.

We've done 2. One we held up on Deck 10 mid-ship right after the lifeboat drill. We were right in the middle of the action for sailaway. It got too crowded and noisy to enjoy IMHO. The second one we did in the same location but at 3pm. This gave us time to really meet before the drill. Only problem was that was in May and it was HOT up there.

I know some others have met in the promonade lounge about 3pm which seems to work well rain or shine.

No matter what your group chooses DIS meets are fun and it is great to be able to recognize other cruisers throughout the week.

On our recent Easter magic cruise we had two DIS meets, Or actually three, or should I say four, some met at the Hyatt the morning of the cruise in the resturant, some met at the Radisson the night before for dinner, we met in the terminal before boarding, Lime green ribbons do help. We all met on Deck 10, terminal side above Goofy pool during sail-away party and the big meet was in the Walt Disney suite, One of the DIS members was SO LUCKY to get that room and was very gracious to host the DIS meet, (Thank You LeiLani) what a nice room. We really got to know each other and have developed lasting friendships. many are cruising together in the future.

We also met throughout the cruise in the clubs and pools and sat with each, did excursions together.

We had a great bunch of DIS'ers on the ship.
