It turns out that the dining plan might be a good solution for us, at least for the second half of our split stay. I am only 13 days away from my trip and I am renting points from a DVC member for the last five nights of my stay. Is it too late to add the dining plan? How hard is it for the DVC member add the dining plan for me? Does he need to pay for it and then I pay him back? Can he add it and then I pay for it when I check in? I will probably cross post this on the DVC board.

It's very simple but does need to be added before checkin. The owner calls member services and adds the DP to your reservation. You pay for the plan at check in.

I also rented from a DVC member for the last 5 nights of my stay. I called member services myself and added the dining plan. They said I would need to pay when I check in.

What info do I need if I want to add the dining plan? Does everyone in the room have to add it for the same number of nights? My mom is going with us and only buying 3 days passes... Will it be based on nights staying or pass days? Thanks!!

It is now DVC policy that Member Services will only talk to the owner - not the renter. Exceptions are made of course, but in general the _owner_ must add the dining plan. You then pay for it at checkin.

Even for DVC reservations, everyone must be on the Dining Plan for the entire duration of the reservation. The duration is based on the number of nights you're staying in the villa, not on admission tickets you may (or may not) have.

Thanks!! I was hoping that was the way it was!! :thumbsup2
