I was so excited about our reservations at Contemporary (we're in a garden wing) during Xmas until I saw another post about the shabbiness and lack of housekeeping. Does anyone have good experience at the Contemporary or should I try to switch reservations? Might not be able to at this point. Let me know!

We had a wonderful room in the North wing in 8/01. We could see the fireworks from our room. Last month we were on the 14th floor of the tower. The resort was very well maintained.

When you check in, if your room is not up to "snuff", go right back to the front desk. They will move you to another room. During our 01 stay, the main pool was closed for repair. It didn't bother us since our dd was very young & we weren't swimming. But another family complained (nicely) and they were immediately moved to either the GF or Poly.

We were in the south Garden wing earlier this month. Despite some issues with the Bell Staff and some garbage outside our ground floor balcony that took a few calls to get cleaned up, we had no problem with mousekeeping in the room or general upkeep etc. I would not consider changing. The Contemporary has so much to offer on a WDW trip, that for us, a few "snags" did not spoil it. I agree with Kimberle. Be proactive if anything is not right for you and keep on them. ... steve c

We stayed in the South wing last June and we loved it. We were on the 3rd floor and watched the monorail from our room. The bathtub was not in the best condition (just older, I think), but other than that, we were very happy with everything. By the way, people warned us that the south wing had smoking rooms. We are very sensitive to smoke but we were in a non-smoking room and did not notice any problems. We're going back in December to the CR, tower room this time, but only because we got an awesome rate. Otherwise, we would've been happy to go back to a CR wing room. Have a great time!

Leaving in less than 3 days. If you want to email me after the 7th (chm7756@comcast.net) I'll let you know how our stay was. This is our fourth time there. We love it.

I know I've read where everyone says they don't take fax room requests, but I did it anyway. We'll see what I get. Last year I did and we were upgraded to a MK tower view.

But whom did you fax your request to?
What did you say on your request?
do you have that number?

Thanks

and let me know what happens with your room

I think you will really enjoy it. It is a wonderful place to stay. We did have some problems with bugs but when we called the front desk, they moved us right away so they could fix the problem. Enjoy!!!

We were at the CR on 8/13, right along with Hurricane Charley!!! WE were in the north wing and loved it. I had hoped for a third floor room but we were on the ground floor and it was terrific. We had only a short walk to the main bldg. The playground area was just outside our room and we faced the lake. It was gorgeous. We will stay there again in a heatbeat!!!

I'm not sure the fax number even works, but I took it off of my reservation form from last year. 407-352-2792 and addressed it to the room controller. I just told them what we had booked and that my two girls would be very excited if a (complimentary) tower room overlooking MK were to become available. It worked!!

That stay was only 4 days - I wondered if that's why we got the upgrade. Then we moved to Poly. I sent the Poly a letter also, but just told them what building, floor, etc. I wanted. Was able to get those requests too - not upgraded to concierge (wishful thinking there!!)

However, one year we did get a concierge upgrade, if you can believe that, at the GF! I had faxed a request for Conch Key and they gave it to me. Little did I know it had been converted to concierge while the main bldg was being renovated!

So, you never know - a little pixie dust may be sprinkled your way!

We were there last March/April. It wasn't shabby and housekeeping was more than adequate---didn't get any animal washcloths though. The room was BIG! The staff was so friendly. The view was beautiful. You're in the MK's backyard. We were at Mk door to door in like 10 minutes. AMazing! I'd go back in a minute over the Poly.

What were you booked for?

Our tower room in March was immaculate and looked perfect!
No stains, tears, crumbs, dirt, etc. Nice linens, pillows and beds.

I was very suprised to find that we feel in love with this resort!
It is so ecletic, so different, and it has "Walt" written all over it!

And don't even get me started with the 14th floor.....:lovestruc

We've stayed at the CR tower several times and we've never experienced any housekeeping problems. The rooms have always been clean and bright. Have a wonderful vacation and I hope you ejoy the Contemporary as much as we do! :sunny:

We stayed in the tower 9/28 - 10/5....and loved it!!!!!!

Housekeeping was excellent and we even receive our first and only towel animal!!

Hope you enjoy as well.

We will be arriving at the CR on the 7th of November. When should I fax a room request? TIA

Last April, we were in the North Garden Wing third floor overlooking the lake and the playground. The room was spotless and in good condition. The bathroom was especially clean. Mousekeeping was great every day and we did receive towel bunny toothbrush holders for the four of us, and on our last day, a towel bird. Would stay again in a heartbeat. :wave2:

Oh, just reading this I'm excited! Maybe more so than my kids! This will be our first and probably only trip! My dh is active duty Air Force and won't be around much after we move next year. And then who knows where we will be! So this is our one shot at the mouse!

Now we have a wing room reserved, but from what I'm reading is it possible to send them a fax and get a tower room free? Also since we will be there over the holidays (dec 19-26) should I even bother? I'd appreciate any advice to make this the best trip possible! Thanks!
