Questions about CBR and has it improved?

We stayed at CBR in Sept of 2011. At the time I thought CBR was just ok, food court honestly not near as good as the times we stayed at POP and beds were still double and a lot of reviews I found on the disboards were negative.
I have heard people say lately that CBR has improved a lot. I realize everyone has a personal opinion about the resorts but just curious for feedback from all of you

We stayed there last August. We had not stayed there since the year it opened. Rooms were redone within the year and Queen Beds replaced doubles. (I am not sure if Pirate Rooms received bed upgrades) They seem roomier than other moderates. Nice sliding doors replaced the curtain that used to divide sink area from beds. Grounds were very nice. We had a car, parking was close to room. Walking from place to place was pretty but not short. The food court was, in my opinion, not Disney's best. Over crowded at times (it was summer though) and selections were lacking imagination but food was acceptable, hot and reasonable. Hope this helps.

CBR is our favorite Moderate and 2nd favorite in all of WDW, right behind Boardwalk. We have not stayed at Pop but of the resorts we have stayed the 3 All Stars, POR and POFQ we like CBR's food court the best. Plus they got a new head Chef at Shutters the Table Service Restaurant and it's fantastic.

We loved CBR even before the Queen Beds and room refurb and now it's even better. The rooms are the biggest of the Moderates, 344 sq. ft. vs 314 sq. feet and now CBR even has rooms to accommodate 5 guests with a Murphy Bed. To us you can't be the laid back relaxed atmosphere at CBR, it is such a great change of pace from the craziness of the parks.

What some people don't like about it, the size, is one of the things we love about it. We like walking around the lake, renting surrey bikes and exploring the hidden benches/swings on Barefoot Cay. And unless you are in a Pirate Themed Room, 85% of the rooms are under a 6 minute stroll to OPR and the Main Feature Pool. And the other 15% are a 7-8 minute stroll.

I have only stayed there once but I was super impressed. The beds are very comfy and while we were in a standard room it wasn't much of a walk from our room to the food court. I found the food court adequate, while nothing fancy it was never difficult to find something to eat. The rooms are very nice and clean, the pool is fantastic and the resort is beautiful. I would certainly stay there again and without a doubt I would recommend CBR.

We stayed there in Sept. 2014 and the resort itself is beautiful and pool area is well themed. The rooms have all been remodeled and are very nice!! I didn't care much for the Food court offerings, we've stayed at POR and it does not compare to that Food Court. The drink area in the FC is not thought out well at all!! could hardly get around to get what you wanted, there is a very narrow section which gets crowded with people trying to get coffee creamer. I would stay there again though, we usually get FD so eat mostly in parks.

We stayed there in Aug, 2015 and loved it. It is our favorite moderate. We had no problem with the food court. The prior 2 years we stayed at POR and that food court was much more crowded.

I think all the values have better food courts than most the moderates. I think POR is the only moderate with a good food court. Like you OP I found the one at CBR lacking. Plus the CM screaming at guests that they were lining up wrong when they were going to pay added to the overall "eh" feeling.
