Questions about Candlelight Processional Dinner at Epcot...

If we decide not to do the CP Package, what time do you recommend getting in line for the last 8:00 show?

Also, we might try Biergarten...how long should we allow for dinner?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
We caught the second CP performance of the evening early Dec last year. And we bought a CP Dinner Package. We were told to arrive outside the theatre about 30 minutes before the show (we were all given special CP stickers so the cast members could identify us). Imagine our surprise when we saw the LOOOONNNGGG line of people with the stickers when we got to the theatre 45 minutes before the show! There was at least 150 or so people ahead of us. The other line (no stickers) was much, much longer. I recall the cast members saying something about how most of people without stickers will not be able to enter the theatre. Felt really bad for them. I'm sure they had waited for more than 2 hours in line.

yep, we saw the late show last year on 11/28 and the reserved line was insane -- I doubt if many people got in from the standby line.

This is a BIG bummer for me, I really wanted to see the CP but there's no way I am going to use 2 TS credits for it, especially with a fixed menu. Oh well ... guess that's one less thing to plan around this year.

People have already been booking it .It is subject to the 90+10. OF those who already booked, they have posted that they were told it was 2 TS pp...Forgot to add the posters booked at both Marrakesh and Le Cellier

If you go to the discussion board under Theme Parks attractions & strategies there is a thread on this.

They are already booking CP. 90 days + 10 for on site guests. Looks like to also be 2 ts credits.

1-2 hours for the stand by line. and your not guarranteed to get it. It's all the luck of the draw how busy it's going to be the night you are there.

Merging the two Candlelight Processional threads. :goodvibes

2 quick questions:

How do the kids like the CP? I have a 7 & 8 year old- will they like it or be bored?

Also, what is 90+10? I know that I can make ADRs at 90 days out, but what is the +10 all about?

Thanks!

I took niece when she was 9 and she was bored. I personally think it's more an adult show, but there are some children that really enjoy it.

Finally a press release sent from a TA...I found this posted on the News Board ...

BOO Disney for making this 2 TS :sad2:

We will definitely be trying the stand-by line for the 5:00pm show and then doing a regular 1TS ADR after the show.

NOTE: The schedule of performers is subject to change without notice
This is a much loved holiday event at Disneyworld and the shows nearly always fill to capacity, with people lining up even hours early to get a seat.

TIP: For the shortest wait, plan to see the 5:00PM performance – if you are not booking a Candlelight Processional Lunch or Dinner Package (information below). You will probably need to line up 45 – 60 minutes early for this performance. Later performances will have longer waits.

Candlelight Processional Lunch & Dinner Packages

You can avoid the long wait by booking a Candlelight Processional Dinner Package. The Candlelight Processional Dinner Package allows you to dine at one of several Epcot restaurants prior to the performance and then you’ll receive a voucher allowing you to bypass the long line. The restaurants are grouped into three different price tiers – this does not affect you if you are using the Standard/Plus or Deluxe Disney Dining Plans but may be a consideration if you are paying out of pocket. There are a very limited number of these packages available so you need to book early.

IMPORTANT ~ New policy for 2009: The Candlelight Processional Dining Packages are now considered a Signature Dining Experience and will require 2 Disney Dining Plan table service credits per person age 3 or older.

Tier 1 Restaurants - Candlelight Processional Lunch and Dinner Package:

· Biergarten Restaurant (Germany Pavilion)

· Garden Grill Character Dinner (Land Pavilion - not available for lunch)

Lunch Price (see the 5:00PM performance): $32.99 Age 10 – Adult / $17.99 per child age 3 – 9.
Dinner Price (6:45PM or 8:15PM performance): $44.99 Age 10 – Adult / $22.99 per child age 3 – 9.

Tier 2 Restaurants - Candlelight Processional Lunch and Dinner Package:

· Nine Dragons (China Pavilion)

· Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco Pavilion )

· Rose & Crown (United Kingdom Pavilion)

· San Angel Inn (Mexico Pavilion)

Lunch Price (see the 5:00PM performance): $38.99 Age 10 – Adult / $12.99 per child age 3 – 9.
Dinner Price (6:45PM or 8:15PM performance): $44.99 Age 10 – Adult / $14.99 per child age 3 – 9.

Tier3 Restaurants - Candlelight Processional Lunch and Dinner Package:

· Coral Reef (The Seas Pavilion)

· LeCellier Steakhouse (Canada Pavilion)

· Chefs de France (France Pavilion)

· Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining (Japan Pavilion)

· Tutto Italia (Italy Pavilion)

Lunch Price (see the 5:00PM performance): $51.99 Age 10 – Adult / $13.99 per child age 3 – 9.
Dinner Price (6:45PM or 8:15PM performance): $60.99 Age 10 – Adult / $15.99 per child age 3 – 9.

Note: Prices exclude tax and gratuity. Lobster entrée is also excluded from this package. I don’t know why the child’s price is so much higher for Tier 1 but I double-checked the information; it may be because the Garden Grill is the only character dining option for this package.

TIP: You can save money by booking a dining package for the 5:00PM performance. You’ll enjoy a late lunch with reservations typically booked between 1:45 & 2:30PM. Please note that the Garden Grill is not open for lunch. The 5:00PM performance is wonderful but please note that this is dusk and not quite dark which might detract from the performance a bit for some people.

TIP: If you want to enjoy IllumiNations (fireworks) that same night, you’ll probably want a 5:00 or 6:45PM seating. The 8:15PM performance will make it difficult to find a spot for the fireworks.

Reservations can (and should be) booked up to 90 days prior to arrival. If you are not on a Disney Dining Plan, you will have to pay for the meal with a credit card at the time of booking but this is refundable up to 72 hours prior to the reservation. If you are on a Disney Dining Package, a credit card number will be required to confirm the reservation; nothing will be charged to the credit card unless you are a “no show”

. . . and then doing a regular 1TS ADR after the show.

I have to say our favorite CP was December 26, 2000, we saw the CP FIRST and then enjoyed dinner at the Rose and Crown and a marvelous IllumiNations while eating dessert. Best Ever!!

That press release doesn't say anything about reserved viewing of Illuminations. And it doesn't say wether it's a set menu or if you can order what you like.

Is it going to be appetizer, entre, & dessert?

Has anyone tried booking the Candlelight package this morning?

Any word on wether it's a set menu?
Any word on what food is included, appetizer, etc.

I presume that the usual 90+10 applies for these reservations, as opposed to the strict 90 that is implied in the press release?

Yes, people have been reporting on DIS the past few days that they have been booking CP using 90 + 10.

This will be a first time for us to do CP. I plan on being on-line at 6:00 am eastern time (same as me, yeah) to book ADRs. Can CP package only be booked through WDW-DINE or is it possible to do that on-line? I know that I need to give my cc info. We will not be on a dining plan but are staying on property. If I can only do CP by calling in would my best plan be to keep my cart open by keeping it active until it is time to call? Or should I book everything else and check out before calling? Should I book a back-up ADR that could be cancelled after I get the CP package?

I just called and they are booking this 90 days in advance. The price includes Appitizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic drink.

I'm glad it's not a set menu because if it was we weren't even considering the CP package. We're probably going to book now since my DH and I were really looking forward to seeing the Candlelight Processional. This is our first Christmas trip to WDW and the Candlelight Processional is something we've wanted to see for a long time.

That's great what day are you planning on seeing the show? Were going Thursday Dec. 3rd. not sure if we are doing 6:45pm or the 8:15pm show.
