Questions about cancelling/modifying reservations

I have read through the DVC FAQ and I think I just need assurance that I understand it correctly.

Like most, my Disney vacation for this week were cancelled due to THE RONA. With all the point shuffling I find myself with 102 points to use before Feb 2021 (March UY). I don't want to use them because trying to get off work for me is a PAIN right now (I work in a hospital, I'm sure we can all see how that is going). I am attempting to rent them out through Davids and to friends, but fear that not many people with bite due to the uncertainty of everything. So in an effort to not just lose the points, and if the stars align I think I can possibly get a few days off and take a long weekend to use up the points for a resort only stay.
Ok now my question. If I book a reservation for myself, but then someone would like to rent my points, for a different resort/date/etc. Would I be able to just modify the reservation? And putting my points in a holding account wouldn't really affect my situation since they are going to expire in Feb 2021 anyway correct?

Thanks in advance for anyone's input and clarification. I've never needed to modify or cancel a reservation before.

Yes, you can modify any reservation made. However, to change the lead guest, you need to call MS.

Holding only occurs when you cancel less than. 31 days or less from check in. Once thst happens, your points would then be restricted to bookings 60 days or less from check in.

Say you booked a Sept trip for yourself but then in Aug got a request for January. if you were already within the 31 day window, you would not be to book using those points because you’d be changing less than 31 days from original reservation.

So, you’d want to make sure any change to what you book for yourself happens more than 31 days from the start of your trip.

Thank you for the clarification! They never mentioned the reschedule within 60 days thing just said its placed in holding...not explaining what holding meant.
