I currently have to pay $884 to Disney for a 4 night stay at Pop and 4 park tixs.

I can pay this balance off by the 25th of Oct with no problem BUT I'm curious if I should cancel the tixs and purchase them elsewhere for around the same price? I know UT will give me 5 park tixs for the price of 4. I'm also hoping to catch a deal on Orbitz for tixs with the PH included (not sure how lucky I will get with that one.) What's the latest time I should order tixs if Im arriving on 12/9?

What will I be losing if I cancel the tixs and only keep the room? Will I still get the magic bands with a room only? Should I cancel the whole reservation and purchase a room on Orbitz since I can cancel before 12/4?

I don't know if you can cancel just the tickets when you have a package. Removing the tickets means it is no longer a package and it has to be coded differently in their system. You would most likely lose any discount you had gotten on the room or if you have *free* dining, you will lose it.

You will also lose any package inclusions such as the PH voucher, the cute luggage tags, the arcade and mini golf vouchers. Room-only reservations don't get these.

You will keep your MBs because they are given to all onsite guests (the MB is also your room key). You also retain the ability to use DME and EMH.

The biggest problem will be your FP+, if you've already made them. Canceling your tickets will cancel your FP+ reservations unless you have other tickets loaded and assigned in your MDE account.

I'm thinking you wouldn't be able to cancel the ticket portion since then you no longer have a package. I think it would be you have to cancel the whole package or nothing, but it doesn't hurt to ask...

Honestly if it was me, I would just leave it alone and not worry about searcing around for a possible deal.

Thanks you two. I just booked 2 weeks ago using the 15% off coupon for the room only. I havent made an FP selections and I dont have the dining plan. Im paying out of pocket.

Then, assuming that the code is still active, you should be able to cancel the package and re-book as a room-only without problems. Just make sure that doing this will actually save you enough money to be worth the effort. Waiting on hold for Disney's CRO in order to make your changes can take forever. Probably very long beginning tomorrow due to the Stay Play & Dine offer opening up to the public in the morning.

Yes, you would book a new RO and then they would cancel your package. The money you applied would then be credited ( will take days) and you would need to pay for the first nights deposit on the RO at time of booking. Not worth the time, IMHO. The difference between a 4 day ticket and a 5 day is $10.
