Questions about buying tickets

I was just about to buy tickets but it asked me about how I wanted them delivered. Is E-ticket the best option because there are no physical tickets to lose? Or is it actually more difficult because it's hard to scan?

I just found out about the Chase Disney Debit card (thanks LalasMomma) but I don't have one yet, would there be a discount if I did?

I'm buying park hoppers in larger quantities for me and the kids for the days that DH is working, if he wanted to join us in the evenings can he buy cheaper tickets in the afternoon/evening? Or is it the same price all day long?

I thought the eTicket just meant the tickets were deliveried to you via email. You still had to print them out and bring the paper copy to the theme park gate and exchange them for the smaller credit card sized ticket. At least that's how the eTicket option worked for MHP.

Ticket prices are the same no matter how many hours you plan to be in the park. There are convention tickets good for the afternoon/evening hours only, but to buy those you have to be attending a convention at Disneyland Resort (the Anaheim Convention Center might also qualify, but it depends on the organizer of the convention).

I have seen convention twilight tickets, for people attending a specific convention. It gives them the option of visiting the parks after the meetings have wrapped up for the day.

Otherwise, I believe it's the same price all day.

E-tickets, unless they have changed in the last 2 years, just means that they email you the tickets, you print them out on regular printer paper at home, and trade them at the turnstiles for the typical card-size paper ticket. (Admittedly, this may have changed over the past 2 years, since it was 2 years ago that I last bought tickets like that--we're now exclusively military salute as long as that program is going.)

Disney Visa won't do any discounts for tickets... However, there's way.com, and orbitz.com, and it seems like somewhere on here, someone spoke of how to do an ebates deal with orbitz (?) for more cash back. Or, you can use your Target RedCard to get 5% off, and buy gift cards that way, then buy the tickets with the gift cards you have purchased. I think I saw orbitz or way.com having buy 3 days, get 4th day free.

As others have said, there are occasionally "twilight tickets" available for certain conventions. DH would need to check with the convention coordinator to see if they have any available. Overall, though, there isn't generally lower priced tickets for less time in the parks. It's a typical complaint of many people, especially those going in the winter when hours are shorter--still paying the same amount for our tickets when the parks are open 4-6 hours less.

I'm having trouble getting it to cut/paste from my iPad but at check out the option for E ticket says that it can be scanned from mobile device. Which would be great so I don't lose them but annoying if it's hard for them to scan.

Darn DH won't be at the convention center so no discounted tickets.

Nice! I had heard whisperings that it was possible, but hadn't looked for any actual confirmation. I would TOTALLY do the e-tickets. If they have a hard time reading them from your mobile device, the worst that will happen is they will send you to a ticket counter where they can print a ticket for you using your mobile device. Easy peasy!

We got a really good (in my opinion) deal on tx through my hubs employer - an international accounting firm. Not sure what other companies have this option, but might be worth it to check into it.

Orbitz has the same free day deal, but their ebates cash back is only 1.25% (?). Way.com has the cheapest tickets w/o having to wait with cash back rebate, but they do not have the get free day option. I am about to buy my tickets for Thanksgiving and have been researching.

I'm trying to hold out until cheaptickets does a dailydouble on ebates as I want the free day.

Just FYI Cheaptickets and Ebates are owned by the same Company. I did the Ebates + Cheaptickets route for my trip last week. I ended up buying 3 days before my trip since I was also hunting down a better offer on Ebates, but never saw anything better than the 6.88% on cheaptickets. Last year i scored a 10% cashback on Orbitz , and I know early this year there was a 20% offer.

My cashback was posted on ebates the day after my order. Will get my payment until Feb 15.
