Questions about buying BLT on a cruise

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some information. I live in Nebraska and recently closed on an AKV resale. I had the mistaken impression that once I became a member I could do add-ons from here. Turns out I still have to go the resale route or buy the next time I'm in disney (yeah, living in Nebraska is great). Luckily, I'm going on a cruise in Feb. so I don't have too long to wait. :woohoo: I want to do an add-on at BLT, and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use a credit card when going through disney directly. I have a 0% card I can use, but not through resale.

Also, does anyone know what kind of incentives I might get? Again, this would be in Feb 09. I have read that I will need to do the minimum 100 point add on. Oh well, the more points the better! :rotfl:

I heard something about double developer points. That would be really sweet if I could get it.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can give Disney a credit card. That's what I do so I get "points" or whatever LOL!

On-board, you can charge the purchase to your on-board account - which is basically your credit card. They can also arrange financing on-board if needed. For new purchases on-board, they were offering double developer points that could be used at SSR, through II, and also for future cruises (have two years to take the cruise, one year for the others). I'm not sure if this applied to add-on purchases. Just curious why you have to purchase an add-on in person - is that some kind of Nebraska law or is that a DVC thing?

I believe that Nebraska is one of the states where DVC determined that there weren't enough potentially interested buyers to make it worth it to register to sell DVC properties in the state; apparently the compliance costs were greater than the expected benefit of registration. There are a number of other states where this is also the case. It's a pain, but what are you gonna do? I suppose if you're in a county near the border, drive across to to say Iowa and call from your cell phone there.

I believe that buying when you're out at sea would be fine, as good as being in Florida from their perspective. They just can't contact you or sell you anything when you're at home in Nebraska.

Good luck! :goodvibes
