Hi, everyone! We usually rent a minivan through National Emerald Reserve, so we get to proceed directly to the minivan aisle and choose the car we want. This time, Budget Fastbreak has minivans for about $11 less (not much, but it's something!). I know with Fastbreak, you proceed to the garage kiosk, where you're given the keys to your rental, so the time savings should be about the same.
With National, we had the luxury of picking out a non-smoking minivan, and always chose the make/model where the third row of seats folded down (as opposed to being removed) which allowed for a lot more cargo space. My question is: with Budget, are those the type of things you can request when you get to the kiosk? Should we request them up front? Or are you given whatever's reserved in your name, whether it's smoking/non-smoking or whatever model's available?
I might pay the extra with National if it gives us more freedom of choice -- although last December when we rented, National had NO vans left and families were circling the garage as each was returned--something I don't care to repeat and one reason I was sort of thinking I'd try Budget...
