Has any Current DVC members had issues when it comes to reserving a studio or a 1 bedroom? We have heard that sometimes it is tough to get in, even at your home resort.

Define "issues"? What circumstances do you consider "issues" vs "regular pattern, way of life, deal with it"?

THe only time I've had an issue was trying to book a studio at VGF at 6 months, but I was able to get in at the Poly. But I rarely ever have had a problem because I book early, and usually at my home resort.

FWIW, I've never not gotten "something." It may not have been my first choice location or unit size/view ... but I found something either by stalking or by using the Waitlist. That said, I generally target 1BR units rather than studios.

In general terms it does seem harder to make reservations within 7 months on studios. Lots of factors can impact, from festivals, holidays, marathons. Also can depend on length of stay as well as location. We tend to do split stays BWV and Poly which are both home resorts for us...BUT... we rarely if ever book between 7 and 11 months, usually shorter. This time on purpose for our 10 days we are doing Cooper Creek for 4 nights BWV for 2 Standard view (For EPCOT focused days) and 4 at Poly. We did this so we could see Cooper Creek and to save points since we are tapped out. Being just two adults, for us its not a big deal to move. When we were looking within 7 months I beleive the only ones that we could do was BCV, GF. With BWV we booked Pool view originally and wait listed Standard.

Getting studios at CCV is proving to be 11 months or ****, and sometimes even at 11 months owners will be unable to do so.

Many studio types are a challenge in fall. Certain types are a challenge year-round.

It really depends on your expectations. You want a CCV studio between November 1 and New Year's, you should buy a guaranteed week. You want to have a selection of studios at 7 months, don't travel in fall at all. You want to stay at small resorts, or in units with small inventories, own there and book at 11 months (and sometimes still not get what you want).

I had a three night reservation for the second week of Dec 2019 in an OKW studio that I made 11 months out and had to cancel it. But, I later decided that we still wanted to go. But only one night is available, so I had to waitlist the other two nights. And it was still nine months out when I tried to rebook it. So, yes, there are times of the year when you won't be able to book even your home resort at less than 11 months out. And everyone says that OKW will always be available.
