Questions About Annual Pass

I can’t tell why but I think they need people in their parks but they gave us premium passes for $300 not the going rate of over $500 so we can do everything.

Ok please tell me where you got premium passess for 300.00. The disney rate for fl. resident premium passess is 469.00.

Let me know i want to save some cash.

Dear, dear!!! I AM confused!! WDW website regarding the 15 month annual pass says it applies to Florida residents only. Yet, Carol said she got one, as well as others.

Now....does this also apply to AP renewals - or do I have to buy a new pass as if I never had one before?

Also - to the OP.... the first time you use your AP is the date used for expiration a year later. If you renew your pass for the 2nd year, the original expiration date becomes your anniversary date.

In years past, you could pay for your renewal by mail and the first time you used the renewed pass, that became the 1 year expiration date. Now, if you renew, like we do, the expiration date stays the same.

You all are forgetting the added bonuses of just having an annual pass. The discounts and passholder exclusive merchandise. You can save up to like 30-35% at the resorts and when you're already staying for cheap at the fort (if you're not in the cabins), it makes extremely affordable. The dining discount for most places at Epcot or Rainforest cafe, the 10% at the World of Disney store. I haven't had a pass for a few years now, but those always seemed to be consistant in the 4 years I did have a pass.

Forgot to mention, you'll probably will be saving up for quick weekend trips to the World. It makes it all that more tempting when you have annual pass.

Sandra - They don't do any discounts for AP's anymore except on advertised room/site specials and 10% at WOD. This past year the discount on the sites at FtW amounts to the same as a AAA rate. Sometimes the AAA rate is actually cheaper. The AP's don't get you as much as they used to.

Deb, our 15 months was for a renewal. The timing couldn't have been more perfect as our APs expired on the last day of our trip. We had 1-day tickets from free dining. We were going to buy new when we came back for Halloween, but with the promotion, we got Dec 1 expiration, plus were able to use our 1-day tickets toward the renewal, and got the renewal discount.

So instead of an October 29th expiration, we have a December 1 expiration and paid $40 less than we planned.

There is a big thread about it on the Theme Parks board. I think they also had a promotion where FL Residents could get a new AP for 15 months.

I haven't checked the AAA rate lately, but we got the AP rate for our November ressie the first week they were announced. It's saving us about $10/night on a preferred site.

Yep...that's about the same as the AAA discount. I check for both when I make a ressie.

That being said, when we stayed in August (a trip I booked in April) the charge for a full-hook up site was $63/nite. The day I checked in I looked on-line and a full hook-up was available & was $47/nite. So I printed out the info and took it with me. When we checked in I showed the CM the lower price info & asked if she could change my rate. It took her about 20 minutes to do so but she did it & I was put in a preferred loop. We took the site in 300, but I'd have rather been in a full hook-up loop.

I can’t tell you why or how but after you spend a month or two they start thought thing at you. To stay they need people in the parks to make money. They don’t not made on the tickets it’s made on the rooms and all the others thing people spend when their money on like food and souvenirs

Okay..mine expired on Sept. 27th. Now...how long do I have to purchase a new pass and pay a "renewal price". I'm not a Florida resident .
Also..what are the prices these days for an AP without water parks.
Am I to understand that I renew now..that my expiration date will be Sept. 27 again of next year (unless I was lucky enough to get a 15 month pass, as some of you have mentioned?) Would I be better off just waiting and getting my pass for when we have our first trip scheduled :confused3 (hopefully for May of next year)

You can renew within 30 days of it expiring and still get the renewal rate. If you were to renew through the mail now, then when you activate the voucher, your expiration will indeed be 15 months from September 27th. (So, mostly likely December 27th, 2010).

However, since your next trip is not until May of 2010, for the $40 per pass you would save, you would only receive about 7 months worth of time on that pass.

In your case, I would just purchase a new annual pass when you arrive in May (if you are planning multiple trips in that year).

Pretty much what I figured. I try not to have such a big expense right before a trip..often we purchase passes as gifts for holidays. Last AP the kids bought it for me as a Mother's Day gift. I just saved the voucher and activated the pass in September. I did get three trips out of it..so it was worth it..also like it for the discount on the resorts. We stayed at the Poly for a few nights and saved a good deal of money using the AP rate. Then again, I used in November for a trip with my son..and was able to get an AP rate for the WL.

Any idea what the AP rate is for out of state residents these days?
Maybe Santa will bring me one?.... :santa: Hey..ya never know.

A regular annual Pass is $520.79
A premium annual Pass is $659.24

If you purchase a discounted ticket through one of the ticket brokers (such as Undercover Tourist through Mousesavers link), then use the ticket in a turnstyle when you arrive, then upgrade to an Annual Pass, you will receive the full current gate price of that ticket as credit.

For example, if a ticket at Undercover Tourist has a discount of $31 off of retail, then you will in effect get a $31 discount on your annual pass.

So did you get the 300.00 pass at Disney or through someone else? Also did you just call them or what?

Thanks

Yes we got our passes at Disney we also got annual passes to Universal for $ 99 and SeaWorld for I think $60 or 70

HELP....just read on one of the threads that something was happening to the overflow parking lot??? But, I can't seem to find any thread that talks about this. Need help from the detectives....(TCD)...with info please.

Have company coming on next visit and I don't want them to run into any unpleasant experiences. This could be related to the creep that hit on that young girl several weeks ago. WDW is probably trying to control who comes and goes at the Fort. So, it might not be such a bad thing.

AP holders used to be eligible to purchase a Tables in Wonderland 20% discount card for dining .... not sure if they still can or not? :confused3

Oh...I hope so. Especially considering the dining plan is not what it used to be. We found the 20% off with Tables in Wonderland a pretty good deal.

Here is a link to a post that will be most helpful to anyone regarding tickets and ticket prices.

You might want to look at the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in this Forum.

This is the best info I have found about tickets/pricing.

AP holders can still purchase a TiW card... although the price went up this year to $75. We've still got a couple of months left on ours from last year, which only cost us $60 and MORE than paid for itself on our last trip alone. :thumbsup2
