hi, first time posting but guilty of reading all your post for mult. trips to the mouse in the past. Leaving tuesday for a last minute trip to the world with my 2 nieces 7 and 8....thier first trip!!!!! Is there an airconditioned restraunt in ak, also what time of day is best to see lion king ( i've never seen, always traveled with my teenboys). thanks for any help and mostly for all the great tips i've read in the past. 2 days till the mouse!!!!!!! p.s. read my screen name backwards!!!!!!

the only restaurant that i can think of that has a/c in AK is Rainforest Cafe, and that is right outside the park

Rainforest Cafe is pretty bad, and Breafastosaurus is breakfast. They have two CS restaurants, Tusker House and Flame Tree BBQ, which are air conditioned. You can do festival of the lion king at any time really. You shouldn't have huge crowds at thyis time of year regardless.

There is no best time of day to see FOTL. The show is the same regardless of the time. I would look at a show times sched right when you arrive at AK and see what time works best for you. The only table service restuarant is the Rainforest cafe located at the entrance of the park. For cs there is tusker house, pizzafari, and flametree BBQ. All of these counter services are airconditioned except for flame tree as is RFC. While the food at the RFC may not be the best the atmosphere more than makes up for it. It is always best to try it once and form your own opinion.

You don't want to miss The Lion King, any showing will be fine just arrive early because the show will fill quickly , about 30 - 35 mins.. Now that the building is air conditioned it makes the show even more enjoyable.

Tusker House and Restaurantosaurus are air conditioned

Flame Tree is CS, outside dining .

I'm an Ak cast member and I work at Lion King! The first or second show of the day is the best time to go, simply because we get much smaller crowds at our first couple of shows. If crowds don't bother you, come later in the day when you need a cool air conditioned place to rest! Lion King is a 30 minute show so it makes a great "time out" in the middle of the day.
As for air conditioned resaurants, that would be Rainforest Cafe (full service with bar), Restaurantosaurus (quick service/McDonalds food), Tusker House (Chicken, fish, salads) and Pizzafari (Quick service/pizza). Flame Tree is actually NOT air conditioned- it is a quick service BBQ and ALL seating is outdoors. It's quite lovely, but not airconditioned.

Must have been a cool day when folks went to Flame Tree to think it was a/c. We made a point of walking over to Tusker House to get out of the heat. FT and TH are two of the very best counter service that WDW has IMHO.

Don't forget the third main CS resturaunt in AK, Pizzafari. It's right on the corner to the path to Camp Minnie Mickey. My favorite for CS-I recommend the hot deli sandwich and the frozen lemonade.
