Questions about 2 rooms

I have quite a few questions about two rooms. When we went before, so just stayed together. Thinking it'd be nice to have the extra room.

There will be five of us, so we'll most likely book two rooms. I know you can request connecting rooms, but not guaranteed. I'd like to have everything under my name/credit card, is that possible? Would I have to book the other room under another adults name? If so can I still have it linked to my credit card?

What about if I add the dining plan? I see that last couple February's they had SPD, so I may add that and upgrade it to the regular dining plan (1 TS, 1 QS). Would all the credits be linked together on all our bands?

I already have all five people under my MDE. Have our ADR's booked too. If we have 2 rooms under 2 names, can I still book all 5 FP under my MDE?

The last time I had multiple rooms you had to have the 2nd room under the name of someone staying in the room. As far as your credit card being linked to both rooms I'm not sure. I can't speak to the FP booking under MDE as this will be our first trip down since My Magic + was implemented. I'm having to learn the ins and outs all over again.

Thank you. I figured you probably couldn't have it under one name, and I'm sure everything will work fine, just like to know in advance.

We got guarantee connecting rooms since three of those people were kids. If kids outnumber the adults then you can get a guaranteed conencting and BOTH rooms can be in your name.

NOT TRUE. Connecting rooms are never guaranteed. No matter what they tell you. If you read the fine print all you are guaranteed is some room, somewhere on Disney property. It does not even have to be in the same category or resort booked. 1 adult can sleep in 1 room with some kids and the other adult can sleep in the other room with the rest of the kids.
Disney does try to meet connecting room requests, but it is not always possible. Not all rooms connect.
Good Luck

Connecting rooms are never guaranteed no matter what a CM or your paperwork says. Two different trips with 2 adults and 5 kids under 12 we had separate buildings once and separate floors the other. Both trips were booked "correctly", 2 rooms 1 reservation number. Still didn't help. Always, always be prepared that you might not get connecting rooms.

Luckily your request for connecting rooms was granted. But others reading this should know, and be prepared, that connecting rooms is only a request that might not be granted.

You can have a different credit card linked to the second room. And it could be the same one as the one you have linked to your room but don't quote me on that. My mother-in-law paid for one of our trips (kind soul that she is) and I just had her credit card info on my reservation. We didn't charge anything to it, other than the room, but it was there with no problems.

Thanks to this board and the advice that they gave me, it is possible to have 2 rooms booked under one name. When I first had my TA book my vacation, we had two rooms. One booked under my name and one under my husbands. DON'T DO THAT!!:goodvibes Call Disney. You can book everyone on the same reservation number but ask for 2 rooms. That way you have one reservation number. You stand a better chance of getting connecting rooms that way. Not that you couldn't if you had 2 reservation numbers. Doesn't always work anyway. Hopefully we will get connecting rooms in June. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We had 2 rooms booked under the same reservation number on one of our trips. Same reservation number, connecting rooms, keys opened both rooms and the dining plan credits all part of one reservation.

Nice! I didn't realize the band would open both rooms. Very good to know.
