Got a call from my bro in law that my Rep from disney got him a 150 pt at BWV with pts from 2003 that have to be used by oct this yr. Is this a Rofr that disney took from someone?

Probably. Disney gets points to sell by buying back contracts. The only other way is if someone defaults on Disney financing.

Interesting . I saw this contract last week on the resale site that sponsers this board. Same points and everything.. Then my guess would be when your looking for a place to call home and it is a site such as BWV , you will have a better shot of getting via disney ,then the resale sites??

I don't think so.

Disney wants to sell SSR first and formost. The other resorts are an afterthough and availability is hit-or-miss. The only way that DVC gets inventory is through unpredictable RoFR buybacks.

Resellers however, focus on properties such as BWV and see a near constant stream of eager sellers. BWV, VWL and BCV do sell quickly but if you get on a waitlist it won't be long before your phone rings.

Of course, with resale it does take longer (about a month) and there are some closing costs but you'll probably save $10 or $12 per point.
