I thought I was told that the incentives received (270 points) when buying over 200 points at AKV would not have the 11/7 month window restriction????
Help please
Trying to use these incentive points to book a non DVC resort in Dec.

I have seen posts in the past that people were told by guides that developer points don't use the 7/11 windows for booking, but I believe that is erroneous information.

While I have seen several posts as mentioned, I have never seen a post where someone was able to use their Developer points more than 7 months out (which is actually what it specifically says in your contract, that they can only be used at 7 months or less).

Sorry, I could have been more clear:

Developer points have no home resort, and thus, have no 11 month advantage to booking, so they can only be used at 7 months or less.

I joined in eary Jan and used my 160 developer points to book a stay at the Del Coronado (Concierge Collection). I booked in Jan for an Oct stay, which was 9mo out. I didn't hear about the 7mo booking for dev points until after I booked, so I didn't ask about it. Maybe the 7mo only applies to DVC resorts?

I was afraid of that. It seemed like I was being told different things by different people. We were planning on using our 2007 points plus dev. points to book concierge at CR for Dec of this year and then bank my 2008 points into 2009 for AKV. I guess we will have to wait for the 7 month period. Too bad

Yes, DVC points may be used for all other options 11 months ahead (and up to 2 years ahead for DCL reservations), but only 7 months ahead at DVC resorts besides your Home Resort.

As mentioned above, Developer Points do not have a Home Resort status and are supposed to be used for reservations within 7 months at DVC resorts. There shouldn't be a restriction using them for non-DVC reservations.

Seems like I have a hope then b/c all I am trying to do is use them (DPts) at CR concierge (non-dvc). I'll try it tomorrow.

I did call my rep and specifically asked her to check on this. She returned the call and stated that there is no 7/11 month out window with dev. points if used at a non DVC resort. Now I have to try MS and book.
