My husband is probably going to want to leave the parks for about an hour during the day to go back to the hotel(we will be staying on site) and take a nap(he gets tired easily as he is disabled). I know that the base ticket only allows you into one park per day. But that after you've been admitted that day you won't be readmitted to the same park unless you have the hopper option, right?(becuase the computer says you've already been there ) So if he left to go take a nap, we would need the hopper option on our tickets in order to get back into the same park on the same day, correct? Someone please explain this to me... thanks!

I don't think so. I think you can get back into the same park but you cannot go to a different park the same day without the hopper option.

That is correct. You are able to re-enter the SAME park you already visited that day without a hopper.

You need the hopper only if you want to go to more than 1 park each day.

When we left a park and came back using our single-day tickets, we had to show our tickets and a hand stamp upon re-entry. The hand stamp was pretty neat - it only showed under a black light. My kids were amazed!

When were there in July they said they were no longer doing the hand stamp. You just needed to put your ticket through the machine.

You will be allowed re-entry to the same park with no problem. You will probably be asked to sign your ticket when you buy it. Before you enter the turnstile you'll have a finger scanned. That finger scan will be connected to your ticket.

:offtopic: but just a little!!! :) The mid day nap is SUCH a good idea. DH and I didn't stay on property last time and we didn't have this option. It is a killer to be on the go all day without that little hour of rest. You won't regret it!

Not to worry, you'll have no problem getting into the same park again, as many times as you want with the base ticket.

For example, if you have the base (non-hopper) ticket and you start your day in MK, you can leave and re-enter MK as many times as you'd like that day. You just can't go to a different theme park.

If you want the option to start your day in MK, leave for your mid-day rest, and then go to, say, Epcot in the evening, you need the park-hopper option.

I like the hopper, myself. It gives you some extra flexibility.

Thanks for clearing that up for me..you all are so helpful! However, hubby told me the other night that he wants to get hoppers anyway so that we will be able to catch the night time stuff like IllumiNations and Fantasmic and Wishes and the night time parades when they are scheduled(from what I've read they are not regualrly sceduled every night during the off season).
