Question: Where is your favorite place to sit and relax at the Fort?

Uhmm guys, I think you're missing the joke :P

The BARREL doesn't vibrate, the foot stand vibrates, that's what everyone is getting at ;)

So.......let the foot vibratin commence!!!!!:lmao:

Boy if this stuff was on the useless thread we'd be moving towards 2800 a lot faster!

My favorite sit & relax spot,,,on our buggy , at the lake at 300 loop , sipping a cold one , while watch'n the fireworks at the MK at the end of the day .:thumbsup2 .....Mr.:goofy: ......It's a Goofy World,,and I'm a happy happy man .

I like to go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review on a nightly basis (it's what we high rollers do) and watch the people vibrating on the barrels.

:cool1: I like to sit behind the vibrating barrels with a long extenion cord and turn them on & off.:rotfl2:

Yea, I've never heard of anyony sitting on a vibrating barrel....now, there is a foot massager that you sit on a barrel with...lol.

Maybe there is a secret way of making the barrel vibrate ;)

Now if you want to sit on that foot part you go right ahead...:thumbsup2

Not that there is anything wrong with that.......:lmao:

My favorite spot was sitting in my adirondak rocker under the awning drinking a cold one and listing to the boats etc. (after everyone else went to bed)

By the way, I looked for the barrels this time, I remembered them from the last trip, but I didn't see them. I didn't look very hard, but they used to be right in front of the pioneer hall, and I didn't see them.

Sittin on the dock veeeeery early in the mornin waitin on that first boat to the Contemporary.

It never failed, the boat came around the corner and the Ft. Wilderness music would come on. It was like, hey it's time to start the day!!

This was before I had my camper, so was tent camping and I always went over to the Food & Fun Center for breakfast. I had the same boat driver like 4 days in a row, and I usually got a private ride over to the Contemporary. It was great!!!

I didn't do that at all my last trip with the camper as I could have my yogurt, bagel, and hot chocolate at my site. Plus the FnFC is now closed and I've heard the new place will be a shadow of it's former self.

I guess on my October trip, since hubby wants eggs first thing in the morning, we'll have to go over to Roaring Forks every morning.

I like cruzin on the cart with the DW and a cold one.

I don't really have a fave spot to sit. I love riding my bike around the fort more than anythikng else. It is so fun! My parents would let me ride to the pool and the store by myself. I loved running to the store to pick up something for my Mom or Dad. Taking a bike ride is my fave "spot to sit.";)

Anywhere.....as long as I'm there!

But I do have a few favorites...

On the beach watching my boys play in the sand while waiting for the fireworks to start.

In a hammock any time of the day.

Trails End porch.

I expect there will be a lot of Crockett/Meadow porch answers to this question...lol

So the question is, where do you like to sit and relax while visiting the Fort?

P.S. Personally, my favorite is probably the seating area at the marina on a cool morning.

In my home away from home ... our TT and watch the trees, grass grow and just enjoy the view and relax.

That made me think that when we took the Disney Cruise for our oldest sons wedding back in 2003 (yes they did the whole wedding cruise thing), I really enjoyed getting up and going up on deck after grabbing a cup of Joe and watching the sun come up. I'm a really early to bed and up type and often am up by 4 a.m. I even got to watch the crew finish washing down the topside decks in prep for the upcoming day. Since I'm a retired surface type Naval Officer, I have seen many, many sunsets and sunrises at sea all over the world and they still are just a sight to behold with nothing but water and the sun rising in the sky with the clouds, etc.

Yeah, it's the below the surface stuff that scared me away from the navy in the first place. :lmao:

I actually applied for nuc sub school and had an interview with ADM. Rickover in D.C. back in the late 60's. IIRC his office (which was in the old Navy Builiding on the mall) was a long room like 30 x 12 feet and they told me to go in and take a seat in the chair at the desk and when I went in the only furniture was a bookcase, desk and one old chair with a pad on the seat behind the desk at one end of the room, so I just stood in front of the desk and waited. When Rickover came in he went over to the desk and sat in the chair and his first question was why I didn't follow directions. No I didn't get to go submarines. :lmao:

As a side note I never wanted to fly, but both our sons did as Naval Avatars for their whole life and are now living their dream as one is a back seat WSO (eyes) and the other as a front seat pilot flying the FA-18 Super Hornets. In fact they are both stationed at NAS Lamoore in Ca. and live like 2 miles from each other. Unfortunately they are almost 2,000 miles from us, but that might change when one goes to the five sided building and the other to Navy Test Pilot School here in the next year or so. :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Neat story. I bet you are proud of your boys!

My favorite place to relax is under the awning at my TT early in the morn. Cup of coffee in hand, just watching the rest of the fort wake up.
