We have a large group going soon and one of our travelers will possibly be having surgery two weeks before the trip. He will be ok but not sure if Dr. will let him walk for such an extensive period. Would he qualify for a wheel chair? Not sure what qualifications are necessary to get one if needed. :confused3

There are NO qualifications you go to the wheelchair rental booth at the main gates of each park and you rent one. Or you could rent an ECV. Once you rent one at one park you keep the ticket you get and if you go to another park the same day just present the ticket at the WC rental place there and get another one, no need to pay twice in one day.
Also if you are going to be there onsite you could rent one locally and have it delivered to your hotel to use the whole time not just in parks.

You don't need a doctor's letter or anything special to rent a wheelchair. There are no qualifications.

Check in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board. Post #2 of that thread has information about the different places you can rent wheelchairs. If your traveler is an adult, you might also want to look into renting an ECV (mobility scooter) for him to use while he is there.
In most cases, people using wheelchairs use the same line/entrance as other guests and if he is not supposed to be walking much, he should use the wheelchair in lines.

Thanks so much. That does help. Do you know if the parks rent out the wheel chairs pretty quick? I'm sure the scooters go fast.

They don't usually run out of wheelchairs. You are correct though that scooters can go fast.
