I'm really not sure if this should go on the Restaurants Board or this one, but here goes...

My question is, while I realize it's not maximizing the value of the dining plan, can you eat at two counter services retaurants in a day instead of a counter service and a table service? I've never used a Disney Dining Add-On, so I don't even know how it is kept track of. Is it tied to your room key? If so, would there be confusion if you ate two counter service meals in a day?

Sorry for so many questions, and thanks in advance for any and all help you guys can offer!

you can customize the plan anyway you want. Two counter service in one day is fine -or three if you want. Eat all your snacks first day there many many mickey bars. Just kidding.

It is tied to your room key (card). You get 1 snack, 1 counter service, and 1 table service credit for each day of your trip. They are all there at the beginning - that is, if you are staying 5 days, then you have 5 snack credits, 5 counter service credits, and 5 table service credits.

You can use 2 counter service credits in a day, but then you will have 3 counter service credits and 5 table service credits left.

I don't think they will let you use a table service credit in place of a counter service credit.

But can you use a Table Service credit to receive a counter service meal?

Thanks,
LisaB

No, I don't think you can use TS credits for counter service meals.

Even if you could, the emphasize on could, use TS credits to get Counter Service meals, you would be wasting your money on the Dining Plan. (2 counter service meals at around $11-$13 a meal plus a snack equals $29 maximum, you pay $35 a day for the dining plan.) Now if you want to eat two Counter Service meals in one day in order to save TS credits to use at a restaurant that requires 2 credits (signature restaurants & dinner shows, etc.) than you can do that.

I realize (as I believe the OP does) that using TS credits for CS meals would be a waste, or at least not taking full advantage. But it is free - and my touring schedule (or lack thereof) puts us at more CS places.

I've heard both that you can and that you can't use TS credits for CS meals.

Thanks,
LisaB

A few people posted being allowed to use a TS for a CS on their last day. I think they're afraid of guests changing their mind and saying a mistake was made.

I am indeed inquiring about this due to the package deal this fall... so cost/ maximizing value is not a concern, really. I just do not like touring being bound by PS's, and much prefer to increase my touring time by eating mostly counter service. :teeth:

Are there any people who have been able to use table service credits for counter service meals on days that are NOT their last days?

Thanks so much for your help! :earsgirl:

One of the guide books, I think it was UOG, said you can use a TS for a CS meal but that you lose value.
