I just read the following on another site:
"Disney-MGM Studios' Soundstage 4 on Mickey Avenue is transforming into the frozen world of Narnia to take you behind the scenes of making the movie version of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Like the characters in the book, you will enter the frozen world of Narnia through a giant wardrobe. In addition to props and set pieces, you will see some of the creatures, costumes, and armor used in making the film. The walk-through experience is set to open soon."
Does anyone have a date for when this attraction will open? :confused3

That sounds cool, but what Disney Studios needs is a new movie ride (not a thrill ride) or a new interactive show (such as Doug or esecially the ABC Soundstage) - not another walkthrough exhibit (One Man's Dream is nice, but you can only see it so many times before you don't want to return)

I haven't heard anything about a release for this - but I would love to check it out.

I'm not sure what your understanding is of this "attraction", but this is supposed to just be a temporary exhibit to promote the movie. Though I would be willing to bet that these props will show up again in a future Narnia themed attraction. After all, there is 7 books in the series...this movie is just based on the first book..therefore, I am sure that Narnia will become a prominent part of Disney in the near future (assuming this film is successful).

It's probably like when they transformed it to promote the HM movie. It'll be filled with props from the movie, a featurette of the making of Narnia will be shown and then you get to look around.

I hope they'll have it by late Sept. I would think they would since the movie is supposed to open soon.

Oooh! I hope it's there in December while we're there! I loved those books when I was a kid.

From the replies I have received it sounds like no one knows when this is set to open. I am hoping it will be open by the end of September. Any cast members or people who know cast members out there who might have a clue on the date that this is set to open?????

I have no idea when it will open, but it should be very cool. The special effects, costumes and such for "Narnia" is being done be Weta in New Zealand. They are the same folks that did Lord Of The Rings. I saw a little preview about the making of "Narnia" and it looked terrific.

Still awaiting news on this attraction. Haven't heard anything from anyone. I even wrote to Anita Answer on Allears website but did not receive an answer. Guess no one knows....... I'll be there next week, so I will check it out then and see if anyone at Disney-MGM Studios knows anything. I'll report back IF I find out any information. In the meantime, if anyone has heard anything, please post. Thanks!!

My daughter would so love this!! :bounce: They are reading this book right now in school and she has needed to do a bio on the author. She is REALLY getting into this book! Perfect timing. She'll be thrilled!!

I heard November or December also. When I first read a few months ago that there were going to props from the movie at the Studios I too was hoping they would be ready by my early October trip, but I recently heard it will open closer to early December. I am sorry we will miss that.I use to read those books aloud to my children when they were younger and when they got older they reread them many times themselves. My children are now in their 20's and 30's and are looking forward to the movie's release.
Have fun at Disney!
