If we purchase the 3 Day Resident Disneyworld pass, can we upgrade later to a seasonal, Epcot after 4, or regular season pass? If so, will the amount credited be based on how many of the 3 days we have used or will the full amount go towards the upgraded passes?

Yes, just be sure you buy only a basic three day play pass. Do not add water parks or you'll be stuck having to buy a premium pass. My mom and sister bought a 3 day play last December and they each had 1 day left in April. They upgraded to a seasonal resident pass for about $100 and it's good until next April. Fantastic deal!

If you buy 3 day passes you can upgrade them. They will be good for 1 year from the first day you used the 3 day passes. If you buy regular passes with no water p[arks you can upgrade them to Seasonal passes provided you haven't attend on a day where seasonal passes are blocked out. If you have attended when a seasonal pass is blocked out you will have to upgrade to regular annual passes. If you buy the water parks and more option then you have to upgrade to premium annual passes. You will get the whole amount you paid but the passes start from the first day you used them not a year from the upgrade date.

You can't upgrade any other pass to an after 4 epcot pass.

That wasn't true in my case. I went on August 5th which was blacked out. Then next day I upgraded my 1 day pass to a seasonal pass. The CM said, "now remember, you can't use this until the blackout is over"
