Question regarding Wyndham Bonnet Creek and Vacation Strategy

I have a 2 bedroom Presidential booked through VS for August 24th for a week. I'm taking my daughter, son in law and grandkids. I called VS today to add on my daughter's name in case they would arrive before me. We're all flying in and I'm scheduled to arrive an hour before them (at MCO-they in Sanford), but I also have a connecting flight and they don't. VS told me I should have told them this in the beginning and it would cost $100 to add another name now. I probably should have listed other names in the beginning but it was never asked and I didn't think of it. I'll try calling WBC directly but they may not even have my name listed yet. What would you do?

I would call WBC directly to give them advanced notice with names of your party. I would also give your family the confirmation number of your reservation and or copy of your email reservation from Vacation Strategy.
Think of Vacation Strategy as ... let's say Travelocity. If this situation happened when you booked a hotel through Travelocity, you wouldn't call Travelocity for any verification or updates .. such as late arrival, or in your situation, the other people in your party arriving early, you would notify the hotel directly.
You should not have a problem.. as long as WBC has heads up and your family has reservation verification to show. hope this helps.

It is a time share - not a hotel. My past esperience has been that only the person whose name is on the reservation can check in. You have to provide identification to prove you are the person to be able to check in. You need to pay the $100 to have VS change the reservation into your daughter's name. However, if you change to her name and you arrive first you will then have to wait for your daughter to check in. My experience has been that timeshares are not willing to do multiple names on a reservation. That is what my 20 years of using timeshares has provided. I have a hard time just getting them to put the reservation in both my name and my husband's name. When we bought the timeshare in 1993 they really put up a fight to have just one name but we held out for two names on the deed.

As someone else mentioned, In order for them to add another name to the reservation the would need to purchase a whole new Guest Certificate from Wyndham, which costs them money. It's basically VS just passing along their cost to make the change to you, and not VS attempting to make some extra money off you.


That being said, I honestly can't fault the logic in the previous suggestion. If by some chance they arrive at the resort before you, because of the flight situation its likely you wouldn't be too far behind. They can ask Bell services to hold their bags while they take advantage of the pools (There are lockers/showers in the bathroom by the pool), restaurants, or activity center. If they are driving to the resort, They could also just go hang out over at Downtown Disney for a little while until you arrive since it's not that far from the resort.

With your flight scheduled to arrive 1hr earlier then them, I can't really justify the cost of adding them to the reservation. Your flights would need to be delayed quite a bit for them to get there far enough in advance of you that they couldn't easily find some stuff to do to kill the time.

I called WBC and the gentleman was very nice and listed my daughter's name on the reservation and said they would be able to check in if they got there first. Who knows if the one who would check them in will say the same thing but I've done what I can do and they are prepared to hang out if need be. I should get there first but I'm flying out of a small airport that is not the most reliable with their flights. Thanks for all the input.
