Question regarding when I can book reservation

I am doing my research before I jump into the club, and I have a question.

As an example:
UY March
2014 Points 0
2015 Points 150
2016 Points 150

If I wanted to book a reservation for APR-2016 that cost 350 points, can I book that at the 11 month mark, which would be May 2015, knowing I will have enough points available at time of check in or do I have to wait until MAR-2016 after I borrow 50 from 2017?

You can book on May 2015, after you have banked the 2015 points. And at the time of booking, it will require you to borrow 50pts from your 2017 UY.

Has nothing to do with when you book, but the date of the stay.

For that April 2016 trip you need to bank the 2015 points before making the reservation. Then, if it is your home resort, you can go online or call in May 2015 to make reservation at 11 months out from date of arrival and use the banked 2015 points, the March 2016 points (which will be the "current" use year points for that trip), and borrow any needed points from the March 2017 use year. In determining which use year points you can and will use and whether you need to bank or borrow, there is simple rule to follow: erase from your mind the date you can call to reserve, which is always 11 months out at home resort and 7 at others, and look only to the dates you will actually be at WDW.
