Hi Everyone

We are brand new to DVC. We received our approval from DVC in early March for SSR. We are all set for our first visit home August 25 - 29.

Of course all we've been talking about is our purchase and how we can't wait for out trip.

My parents are very interested in seeing SSR and are now thinking of going to Florida the same time we're there. They have a condo in Clearwater and they thought it would be nice to drive to Orlando and spend a day with the grandkids and see SSR. (This would be a day trip only, they would drive back to Clearwater that evening).

Do we have to notify someone while we are there that we will be having visitors or can they just come right to our room? Wasn't sure what the policy is on something like this.

Thanks for your input.

You can have Grandma and Grandpa stop in and see in the new digs! I'm not sure how SSR will set up their Security. You might ask at the front desk whether they'll need to have a parking pass and/or have their name at the gate. Chances are that might not be necessary since they are coming during the day. Congratulations and Welcome Home!

I agree with Pam, let them know at the front desk...and ask them if you should let the guard shack know. Other than that, yes, you are free to have day visitors. We used to have some distant relatives inthe area and they often drove in to spend a day with us at OKW and have lunch.

I agree with Pam and Chuck. We have had people stop by and visit us at the BWV, BCV and VWL on various trips. It has never been a problem, even during busy times of the year. Disney doesn't mind because chances are the visitors will spend money or you will spend some on them.

As has been suggested though, let the front desk know and ask them how to go about making sure your visitors go about getting in.

Thanks for the input. We'll talk to the front desk upon check in.

These boards are wonderful!!:teeth:

We've had visitors several times, and have never thought ot let the front desk or the guard shack know(although it's a good idea...we just never thought of it!). When our visitors arrived at the gate, the guard asked them who they were visiting, they gave our name, the gugard checked a list(occupancy I assume)and they got waved through.

My DSIL will be joining us for 2 of our 7 night stay when we go in early May (we have a 2BR, so it's OK, all legal with occupancy rules etc;)), so I'll have to remember to mention it.
