Not sure where to post this, so I figured this would be the best spot. Please feel free to move this if need be...

We will be going to WDW in early May, staying at the Pop Century. If I put a credit/debit card down so I can post charges to my KTTW card, can I pay cash or with a gift card when I check out? I have several American Express gift cards from my birthday and Christmas that I've been hoarding in preparation for our trip, but I also like the idea of having "one" sheet of charges so I can see at a glance what I spent and not have to keep reciepts for everything...

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hi If you put a credit card in your KTTW at check in:cool1: , when you check out automatically they charge all that you have charged to your room, to the credit card that you have registered, all of this is without your participation you can go and never need to go to the front desk, only close your room door and go away, the name of this is express check out. I hope that this information will help:yay:

From searching the forums here, I believe you can go to the front desk & pay for the charges however you'd like instead of having them hit the credit card on file. Just be sure NOT to do the express check out...unless you pay at the desk the night before you leave.

I was looking to see if you could attach more than one credit card to the room keys, you cannot...but you CAN go to the front desk & pay w/more than one card if you wanted.

when you check-in, do not opt for "express checkout".
then, just go to the FD to pay outstanding charges every few days, or more often if you wish. especially if the AmEx GCs are for smaller amounts, this would be the preferred choice (as many systems will not allow more than a few credit cards (which AmEx GCs are) per transaction). also, for some, it is easier to "budget" by keeping tabs on what's been spent.

otherwise, you can go to the FD & settle the charges at the end of your trip, but as said, if there are many small AmEx's, your bill may need to be broken down into multiple transaction in order to accept them all.

just one more suggestion ;) : i had 5 $25 & 1 $100 AmEx GC's. i used them all to buy/add to one Disney GC. imho, it's much easier to keep track of spending that way.

If you don't swipe a credit card to enable room charging, you will have to leave a deposit of some kind - cash, travellers checks, Disney Dollars, or Disney Gift Cards. You cannot have room charging enabled without either a credit card swipe or a deposit.

However, I believe that you can use your Amex gift cards as a deposit. I have not tried it, but I HAVE done it with Disney Gift Cards, and I know that you can do it with travellers checks, so it's worth asking. Instead of worrying about paying off your charges, just enable the charging feature by depositing all of your gift cards (the limit at Values is $500 at a time, $1000 at Moderates and $1500 at Deluxes). When you check out, any remaining balance from your deposit will be refunded to you in cash.
