question regarding points received through Magical Beginnings

The way our rep explained it to us, since we're buying 200 points, we'll be getting 200 points for 2002. Our use year is September. Now when I talked to him on the phone yesterday, he said we have 60 days to bank those 200 points from 2002 so that we can use them from September of 2003 to September of 2004.

Is he giving us the correct information or is he forgetting to give us all the details concerning those points?

My plan was to have enough points our first time around to book a 2 bedroom either in November of 2003 or in February of 2004. If we can combine 2002's points with 2003's points, we'll be able to do that. Can someone help me figure this out?

Points from September 2002 may be banked thru February 28, 2003 and must then be used for a trip between September 1, 2003 and August 31, 2004. They can be combined with your September 2003 points (and points borrowed from September 2004 if needed). You will have 400 points for your Nov 2003 or Feb 04 trip (and 600 if you borrow from September 2004).

The points you'll receive from September 2002 have nothing to do with Magical Beginnings, since with MB you will sell the points back to DVC and will not have the use of them at all.

In this case, it sounds like you have a use for the points and that makes them well worthwhile to keep instead of selling them back to DVC.

You would normally have until February 28th of the following year to bank 100% of the prior years points.

In this case you have until February 28th 2003 to bank your September 2002 points.

You will not be able to use the banked points until the start of your next use year in September 2003. On September 1st 2003 you would have 400 points available for reservations. That would work well with your plans for November or February of 2003.

You would want to bank the points now and make the reservations at 11 months from your check-out date.

You should get a form with your paperwork that will allow you to automatically bank points at closing, even if the closing is after the banking deadline.
