Question Regarding New Cars Ride

This is my first(I think) posting in this forum, so be kind to me. My DH and I are planning a trip in 2012 to ride the new cars ride, yes we are planning a trip just to ride that ride. Anywho, there is only two weeks the whole year I can go because I am in school and it is year round school. My question is does anyone know when in 2012 the new cars ride is supposed to be completed? I really really really hope it is before we go. BTW, we are going the last week in August 2012

It's scheduled to open "Summer" 2012. Unless there are major delays, you should be ok in August.

I wouldn't hold your breathe though -- WOC was supposed to premiere in April & ended up getting delayed to June .... so make sure everyone who has their hopes up is aware that it could get delayed! On the flip side perhaps they will have some soft-opening type activity going on (we had that with Buzz Lightyear a few years back before it officially opened.)

Another thing for expectations purposes. What I've recently read about this ride is that it is similar somehow to test track. Test Track breaks down a lot and in the early days it used to break down on a fairly regular basis.

I hope it is open for you though when you go!

Welcome to the DLR side of the boards! Everyone over here is exceptionally friendly. There was even a thread awhile back about how kind and friendly everyone over here can be.

I echo the previous posters about being careful in assuming August will be safe. It's so far in advance, it's really hard to make definitive plans just yet. I think you'd be safe in making soft plans and keep an eye on the construction over the next year. In about 18 months (January 2012), I'd say you'll start getting a better idea of what the actual opening date might be (if it's relatively on time or getting slowly pushed back).
