I was looking at the video of Mt. Everest, is it more along the lines of Big Thunder mountain , I have rode that ok before. I really would love to ride it if it wasn't to much like space mountain. I can take fast, I can't take really long dips. Well how is it really ? :listen:

There are some 'long dips' :) on the ride. I am not in any way a *coaster person* but I do like BTM. Space Mt is okay and I absolutely do NOT like R&R at all - that makes me feel sick right from the beginning.

I wanted to try EE because it did look fun ~ my daughter (who's been on it many times) told me I'd *like* it. She was right! We went on it 3 times the other morning :) It's now my favorite of the Mountains.

I absolutely love EE. It is such a great ride. However, there is a "long dip" and a time where you go backwards. So I believe it is more wild then BTMRR, and even a little bit more then SM. But it is up to you to decide. It really is an amazing ride though.

I hate roller coasters. I do Space Mountain on occassion but I never relax even though it's in the dark and I can't see how high we are (but I know). Big Thunder, to me, is very tame. I did Rock N Roller Coaster because it's shoots you off so fast, I don't have time to think about it.

So I was concerned with Expedition Everest. It is, hands down, my favorite attraction at Disney World. It's very smooth and the drop is not that bad. The backwards part is in the dark and it's a bit disorientening but not that bad. I absolutely loved it.

Unfortunately, thanks to a broken neck, I'll never be able to ride any of these again.

Oh, NO!
So this happened to you this year?

Are you alright otherwise?
I hope you'll not suffer any long-term debilitating effects from this after your recovery.

Take it easy, and remember, unlike most other theme-parks... WDW can be enjoyed on so MANY other "levels" than just the "thrill rides"!

In an attempt to briefly explain the difference between the mentioned three rides, as an ex-president used to say: "Let me say this about that."

SPACE MOUNTAIN: Reminds me of the old "Wild Mouse" rides they used to have in local carnivals. Only difference is, this one is longer and mainly in the dark. (Just an OK ride.)

BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN RAILROAD: A coaster that has too much in a small space. Bumpy-jerkey ride with too many sharp turns. Hard on the back. (Rough ride.)

EXPEDITION EVEREST: A very well-designed coaster, smooth, with no bumps. (In short, an excellent ride.)

Enjoy.

Yeah, this was this year. Early May. I toured Disney World over Memorial Day with a neck brace on. Verdict is that my neck will always be broken (long story since I only broke it on one side). Roller coasters are out for me forever. There are other things at Disney World that I can't do either. I know all those and accept it. Because I just focus on the things I can do. Like Twilight Zone. I did everything there except the drop. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade and continue on.

I loved it it really is NOT like Big thunder mountain. It still is great!

It is fast, there are dips. But it is a lot smoother than BTMRR. I think if you can ride Big Thunder, you can ride Everest. It is getting a lot of hype, but really isn't one of those "thrilling" type thrill rides. Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of fun...but not a scary rollercoaster.

When life gives you lemons, you should rip the lemon open and squirt the juice in life's eye to make it suffer for its mistreatment!! ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your neck. What rotten luck.
