Question regarding Magical Express

The day we leave we have a breakfast reservation at 8:10 at the Contemporary and wanted to head to Downtown Disney afterwards. We don't have a park ticket for this day so we won't be in any of the parks. We were wondering if we can get picked up by the Magical Express from Downtown Disney or if we have to head back to our hotel for pick up. We are flying Delta so we were planning on checking our bags with the hotel when we checked out. We have to leave at 3:30 to catch our flight, so being able to leave directly from Downtown would allow us to have a little more time.

Does anyone know if you can request a departure location for the Magical Express to pick your family up??

Nope, Magical Express will only drop off and pick up from YOUR resort. I've asked. Once I arrived mid-day and had no carryon, wanted to be dropped at Beach Club so I could go straight on to the F&W festival at Epcot. (Was staying at Pop Century). They wouldn't do it.

Others have also checked to see if it was possible to get picked up at a different resort for the trip to MCO. DME has told them that no, you can only leave from the resort listed on your reservation. So, be sure to return to your resort about 45 mins before your pickup time. If you leave any carryon bags with bell services you may need about 20 mins for them to 'find' them. Then you can relax a bit and not worry about being late. When they say they are leaving at 3:10, they mean 3:10...not 3:11 or 3:15....3:10. In fact, if they have everyone on board that they are expecting, they will leave early!!!
