I live 100 miles away from Disney and am a Fla. Seasonal Passholder. In the past 20 months, the family has been at Disney at least 10 times with most of the stays consisting of a night or two at the All Star or Pop Century. I have never stayed at a moderate resort. We spend very little time at the hotel since we are in the park as much as possible. The hotel is used to sleep and shower. We don't even use the pool since we have one in our backyard. During the last few trips, especially at Pop Century, we have noted how noisy the rooms are at the value resorts. If someone is flushing a toilet or showering above your room or next to it, it sounds as if the person is in your bathroom. Are the moderate resorts any better regarding the sound problems?
One other thing. Last Sunday we decided to go to MK. It was supposed to have a heat index of 94. However, God smiled on us and clouds were present the entire day. It felt like the low to mid 80's. The night was beautiful also. The crowds were small. We arrived at 2:00 and took the train towards Splash Mountain to get a fast pass. In the meantime we rode Pirates of Carribean (ice cold air conditioned) twice as there were no lines, rode Jungle Cruise, and then the Magic Carpets. After that we ate a burger at Pecos and then got another fast pass for Thunder Mountain RR. The fast pass return for RR was only 30 minutes later than when we got it. We then went and used our FP to Splash Mountain and then got on RR a few minutes later. The wait time for the next FP was reduced to under an hour so we took the train back and got a FP for Space Mountain. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to ride Space M. within 45 minutes. While waiting for 45 minutes to ellapse we were able to hop on Buzz (no lines) and Snow White. We then went back to Space and rode it and when we got off we were able to get another FP for Space. During the rest of the day and night, my daughter was able to get autographs in the Toontown tent, ride the Toontown coaster at least 3 times, ride the Carousel twice, ride the Peter Pan ride, etc. We also watched the fireworks at 10:00 and they were great as always. Not bad for an 8 hour day on a Sunday. It will probably be much busier from now, especially Memorial Day weekend and July 4th.
