My friends booked the Grand California for a trip this summer, and had an interesting question. If they only had base (non-park hopper) tickets, for their DL day, could they still use the DCA entrance to pass through to get to DL, and at the end of the day go through DCA to get back to the GC? I think I know the answer, but wanted to confirm this. Thanks.

No, if they were to use the DCA entrance, even if it were simply to cut through, this would be considered a park entrance and they wouldn't then be able to enter DL. Your friends would have to use the DTD entrance/exit from the GC to get to DL, which would take about the same amount of time anyways.

Same with the Monorail...only board from DTD if they plan to use their ticket for DL that day.
