Hi everyone-

We have decided to go to Disney World during Christmas break at the last minute and do not have advanced dining reservations. Is there any hope to still getting some if I keep checking? It is for 6 people, so it is not as easy to squeeze in.

Your best bet is to try the night before your visit (when people cancel to avoid the no-show penalty), but even that will be difficult for 6 people.

Actually I just inputtd party of 6 for a variety of times that week and lots of options came up including some of my favorites. You need to get online and see what works for you.

Keep checking the site. We were supposed to be in Tampa from 12/28-12/31 before we got to Disney on 12/31 last year. We found out on 12/25 that the Tampa portion of our trip fell through. I was able to get ADRs for the 29th-31st for restaurants that we actually wanted on that short notice-but I was only trying to seat 3 of us. My point is that if you really search the potential is there to find something that you may want.

Some of the most popular places will be booked, especially inside the parks, but there's lots to choose from. Just get online and start checking. A lot of your best options are going to be the hotel locations, so if you're in Epcot or DHS on a particular day, try to get reservations at restaurants at Boardwalk, Beach Club or Yacht Club. For MK, get reservations at Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge or Ft. Wilderness. For AK, you might want to consider AKL reservations or even going back to the Boardwalk; it's a pretty short cab ride away, like $10-12.

Also, frequent the restaurant board/reservations. People are always posting cancellations because they're finalizing their plans or changing them.

Also you can try to break your party up into a group of 3 and 3 or 4 and 2. You may not get seated together, but you wil all get to eat at that estaurant together, KWIM?

I know this is busier than in AUgust, but we added two folks to our group of 7 and a few times I could only book a party of two, reather than bump my group to 9. WE alwyas were accomodated, but were preparred to have two seperate tables. Truth be told, I bet our group secretly wished we were at two different tables a few times! LOL!
